  1. trimmed back version of this mid-pandemic look I've never liked facial hair but people say it looks good on me and i'm incredibly lazy, so..
  2. nuts.wad big, simple, people stutter and can barely move when they see me
  3. This is exactly what I thought it was I think we both picked this up from somewhere. The sequence of events as i understood it ID (time to) Kick Fucking Ass they added IDFA as a keyless option, remove the K from that because, well that makes sense ID Keys & Full Ammo retconned for the kids I know that is all wrong
  4. When Pokémon Blue came out, news about MissingNo went around pretty quickly. But they were quick to warn people not to catch it. Of course being like 9 years old I promptly ignored that. The craziest crap started happening. Viewing the hall of fame would show dozens and dozens of pokemon you didn't even catch. Scariest of all was returning to Cinnabar and re-doing the initial missingno glitch. Weird pokémon started showing up with corrupted names. But one time a trainer showed up. I fought like 18 different pokémon until a Voltorb came out with a black bar across the screen where the name would be After a few moves it never would've had it used Self-Destruct. My game reset. Slammed the new game button after that
  5. @r_rr mentioned being diagnosed with germcell cancer and their last visit was about a year later :( I sent a PM a couple years ago but as you can tell by the visit date I didn't get a response
  6. I thought my graphics card died several months ago and had to use the onboard on my 9900k. It worked better than expected! But even in dsda-doom I had the occasional frame dip at 1440p. Still if you're just playing Doom using the Intel onboard graphics is a surprisingly satisfactory time. Running OBS at the same time might cause a hiccup but if you're just recording and not streaming I don't think it's a huge deal. I thought that price was 'merica dollars and had a hard cringe at a system that price not having a graphics card. But seeing that it's AUSbux it's more in line with what i'd expect in today's frustrating market. I might have mis-read your post, but can you use your old graphics card for a bit in the new system? Might be worse than the IntelHD but it's worth a try. But really at first you're going to be mindblown by having your first SSD and that high should hopefully get you to when you acquire the new graphics card
  7. Great advice here, especially the basic room idea from LippyServer. Make a plain room and throw some monsters in, just to see how that feels. Then change the enemy placement and shape of the room, see how that changes the experience, rinse and repeat. Also know though that there are those of us who prefer style over substance and just like to see cool spaces made in the Doom engine. The monsters are really just there to keep from feeling lonely.
  8. my removal was also documented on this site good luck clippy i drank a bunch of V8 that had fruit in it until i could eat again
  9. Also born in Manhattan. Moved to eastern/coastal Virginia as a young child and have been here ever since.
  10. The AV D2ALL UV-Max by ancalagon is my go-to long demo to watch, though admittedly I've never made it to the end
  11. I played this map on an AV co-op server years ago and thought it was neat. Sat down with the current AV release some time later and was confused when it wasn't there. Very glad we have the multiple versions, extras, and Andy Johnsen commentary today
  12. There's a few sites that spit out a random Steam game in your library, you can specify ones you've never played and such. Aside from that, a reminder like that in the OP (great avatar btw) that there's near infinite content out there I'll never play is enough an excuse for me personally to just play what I want, unless I explicitly want to find something new. The games I've bought and never played I just plan to dig into if i want to save money on games for awhile. edit: also Mr Masker can we get a link to the video it sounds interesting
  13. This is a really mature response and I'm glad to hear it. I'll give my usual advice to go out and enjoy nature and/or other people if you can. Best of luck!
  14. Hate to pile on to a necro-bump but just wanted to say I always liked Rootpain

    did anyone post this yet?

  16. It's definitely over the top, but I like how it looks quite a bit. Doesn't have the 'vaseline' look people throw around to describe such things, it's just crazy lighting, not shiny surfaces. I put up a quick video playing the first map from each episode. E2M1 is my favorite with the pitch black plasma secret room Ling put up a tweet of it looking good in REKKR which I want to try
  17. Great read, couldn't put it down until I finished it. I wanted to read it again recently but don't know where my copy is. probably will just buy again on kindle My heart still breaks for the burgers Jay Wilbur grilled that went uneaten Thanks for the Rocket Jump reccomendation david_
  18. Also agree with CoD4 but I didn't play that one until years after it came out. I have much more nostalgic connection to MW2-3 and the first two Black Ops as I was playing online then. But still have to give it to CoD4
  19. This is an unexpected and wholesome surprise! I always get a chuckle out of the '5 Years of Doom' writeup on glDoom. I had no idea the author had found the code.
  20. Oh snap I was going to give this another go, glad to see it on /idgames! Congrats on the release these are a lot of fun
  21. When I learned you could Shift-RightClick in Windows file explorer to open a CMD (now PowerShell) window I never went back
  22. Unholy Cathedral and Fortress of Mystery. Very glad to see them getting some love here. This exactly. It always felt like the hellish epicenter of evil in an episode that was otherwise kind of a weird cartoon (in a good way). I also found getting lost in such a place scary and fun instead of frustrating like many did. I hate seeing Fortress of Mystery get dunked on. To anyone who struggled to beat the first Doom, a level where you're surrounded by strong enemies leaves an impression. It also really exemplifies the abstract-ness I like in IWAD maps, as opposed to the brash ugliness of Doom 2 (with the exception of MAP28)
  23. I didn't realize until this post I owned none of the games in the bundle. Went ahead and bought it thanks for the reminder
