Karmea (DooM 2)
One level, new graphics.
Made by Espi.
So, this is going to be first level of some megawad... Well, I hope it will come true because
this level is some neat base-style work. I would say that it was a bit on the easy side but
it's just ideal for a first level of a megawad. Some new textures (they seem familiar but the
text file doesnt mention if they are ripped from somewhere or not) that look quite good are
presented too. I was happy to play this one!

KBase #1 (DooM 2) +
One level.
If I understood it right, this is Kurt's first DooM level (or something like that). Structure
of level is mainly good, but some of the textures really don't fit, and when this level was
made, Kurt certainly didn't know how to align textures :-) Anyway, it gives quite good
challenge on UV.

KBase #2 (DooM 2) +
One level.
I don't know how old or new level this is, but this has exactly the same problems as KBase #1.
Bad texture alignments... Other things like texture usage and level structure is just fine,
and challenge is very good.

KBase #3 (DooM 2)

Quite good detail and very hard challenge, but there are some misaligned textures and the size
of the level is so big that it gets boring in the end (I thought that it will never end).
Anyway, this is a fine level...

What happens when you take KBoom 7 and take off all the BooM features?
A great level that will run on any DooM source port... It won't run on normal DooM, so you need
DosDooM, BooM
or some other DooM version that has no detail limits to run this baby!

KBoom #1 (BooM + DooM 2)
One level.
Kurt Keslers first BooM WAD seems to use BooM's abilitys very well... It has several things that
wouldn't be possible without BooM and it's so detailed that it wouldn't run on normal DooM (I
actually tried to see what happens, and it gave me "visplane overflow" :) ). The screenshot that
I have taken from this level is very brilliant because of it's really smooth lightning effect
that looks so cool!

KBoom #2 (BooM + DooM 2)
One level.
Basically this is just a BooM version of KMetl #13, but it has some very
nice tricks that wouldn't be possible without BooM. Also this WAD has a lot more little detail
than the original had. That's because original DooM 2 couldn't handle those details, but with
BooM they are possible.
This is what I said about the original KMetl #13:
After a very different kind of KMetl level, Kurt Kesler is back with base level that uses
mostly green metal textures, but also lot's of others. This level also gave a very good
challenge again.

KBoom #3 (BooM + DooM 2)
One level.
This one is very different from Kurt Kesler's normal style. This level has very wide open area
and several buildings on it. This level doesn't have much small details, but it does have lot
of big details. Also a bunch of cacodemons can be found from this level. Somehow I don't have
much to say about this, but it is a good level.

This one is not quite as good as earlyer KBoom levels, but it's still very nice. It's rather small
level, but it's well detailed and gives a good challenge. Of course there is bunch of cacodemons,
which seems to be in every Kurt Kesler's level now :)

This one is again excellent base level from Kurt Kesler's. This level clearly shows that base
levels are what Kurt can do best :) This level has very good details, smooth lightnings,
good planning and everything that is needed for a good level. Get ready to take some underwater
visits in this level too...

KBoom #6 (BooM + DooM 2)
One level.
Kurt Kesler seems to be very good with base style levels, but he likes castle style more, and this
is a castle level. The outdoor areas are a bit too dark for my taste, but the indoor areas (which
are somewhat dark too) are bright enough to be fun. This level is not as well detailed as Kurt's
some levels, but it is detailed. Once again, this level also has bunch of cacos. I like to blast
with my rocket launcher to pack of cacos :)
Remember Kurts hint for this level: "The RED key is hidden in something RED".

KBoom #7 (BooM + DooM 2)

Kurt is back with the base style level. It's, again, very well detailed and planned level.
I just can't say anything bad about this level, but I missed Kurt's usual Cacodemon crowd...
There wasn't any cacos in this level (or then I didn't see them). Anyway, this level is a must
for every DooM WAD freak...
Btw, it will be the last KBoom level from Kurt Kesler...

Seems like KBoom #7 was not the last KBoom level from Kurt, and I'm glad that it wasn't!
This wad rocks like no Kboom level before! It uses the 3d-bridge trick (see screenshot) to
give this level a great detail! It's a base style level like all Kurt's latest levels, but
it has some wooden structures on it too! All I can say is that this WAD rules!

KBoom #9 (BooM + DooM 2)

Rock and roll! This is the best KBoom level I've ever seen! Features incredibly good looking
window trik that looks a bit like Quake 2 windows (see screenshot). The level is excellent and
the exit is also great! As an addition to excellent detail, this level also gives damn good
challenge on UV.

KBoom #10 (BooM + DooM 2)
One level.
This level is even better than KBoom #9 which was the first KBoom level to receive 5 stars!
Great architecture, lot's of 3d-bridges, powerful use of BooM's features... Only thing
that seems odd to me is that you are able to shoot through those neat windows that you see
quite many in this level... Windows should either broke, or they should be bullet proof.
As always, this level gives a good challenge.

KBoom #11 (BooM + DooM 2)
One level.
This time Kurt has decided to do a castle level, instead of his most used base theme, and he
does a damn good job with this one too! Lot's of areas made from brick & wood, some great looking
outdoor area, and wooden 3d-bridges. Again this level has everything that is needed for a good
level: detail, arcitechture and challenge! Also Kurt has decided to use his good ol' bunch
of cacodemons, which I am very glad to see (I like to blow them off the sky with my rocket
launcher, or double barreled shotgun!).
Oh, just have to say this! Ending of the level scared me a bit, but I'm not going to reveal it
for you!

Kbrick (DooM 2)
One level, graphics.
After making all the KMetl levels Kurt Kesler made this level called Kbrick... The name pretty
much decribes the look of level... Lot's of brick and some wood... As in Kurt Keslers
KMetl levels, the detail is really good. I guess that Kurt really likes Cacodemons... There
was an army of them in KMetl #10 and in Kbrick too...

Another brick&wood level from Kurt Kesler (which at the moment is one of my favourite level
designers). This is a bit small well detailed level which will run well on slower machines too...
Only drawbacks of this level are that it's a bit small and a bit too dark...

NOTE! This level won't run with normal DOOM2.EXE. You need to use some of the new ports like
DosDooM, WinDooM

Excellent level... This is a base style level, and I think that Kurt is at his best with base
style levels, but it's also very different kind of level... In this level you are on some kind
of hills and there are several buildings there... The level detail is excellent and the challenge
is hard enough.

This is another base level on the hills! On this level Kurt first time uses the famous 3d-bridge
effect to add detail and look to places... I got to say that it's pretty cool, but the bridges
don't work perfectly...

King Of Pain (DooM 2)
Reviewed: 26, June 2002.
4 levels, graphics.
Made by Sean Bernard.
These levels are not specially good, but they are not specially bad either. Actually they were quite fun to
play. The visual aspect is nothing astounding and specially in the beginning it's actually quite lame, but
it get's better by the end. Same thing with the gameplay - at first this seemed at best like a two star pack,
but in the end I had enjoyed it enough to give it three stars with pleasure. Unfortunately I in my opinion
there was not enough challenge - sure, they were fun to play, but if you are not a beginner and want to have
serious challenge then this is definately not for you. If you want some relaxing fun-shooting then it's
quite ok. You can see, when you get further, how the designer is getting better at his design all the time -
kinda reminded me about the times when I was a beginner level designer :)

This WAD is not reviewed by Sir Robin. It's reviewed by Jofa!
Well what could I say,it was pretty hard and dark. There where few
mis-alignments and that annoying "flickering machine" that almost make me mad :-)
But actually it was pretty neat and 3 stars is earned...

KMetl #8 (DooM 2)

This level is as good as any of this series level. Only negative point is that this level
is slightly boring compared to other levels on this series. Anyway it's still as good as any.
Speciality of this level is that the author has used some wall graphics that are normally only
used in ceilings and floors. This gives a wicked look.

Excellent! Very good inside areas and even better outside areas! This WAD also uses a lot Quake
textures from outdoor "stone" textures to indoor "tech-base" textures. This starts from somekind
of Quakish basement and ends on some kind of strange outdoor area. Also the music gives a good
mood. I rarely even notice music in levels, but this music was good!

KMetl #10 (DooM 2)
One level
Why I gave this four stars? It was very good quality, prehaps not quite 4-stars, but the
unexplainable feeling that I got while playing it, gave it 4-stars. Mostly the challenge of
this WAD was based on many monsters that suddenly come from somewhere. Unlike in most DooM levels,
this was not a very bad thing. And I really enjoyed the fight with CyberDemon while the
Arch-vile bastard tried to help that CyberDemon a bit... Man it was great feeling to run in
the front of the arch-vile, pump some rockets to it while the CyberDemon was firing at me,
and then continue strafing round the CyberDemon. Btw, this was the first KMetl level with
CyberDemon. It was about the time too :).
This level also had a very different look, when compared to other KMetl levels.

Again one of Kurt Keslers top-quality levels!
This one is steel (or should I say metal :) )! From the beginning to the end it looks
just gorgeus, and it gave me a lot of challenge on Ultra Violence too. In fact, it gave
me so much challenge that in the end when I was low on health and ammo, I had to run
past the Arch-Vile and Mancubus to the exit to stay alive :)
This level again uses very well Quake's metal textures too!

And the KMetls series continues... This time with a very different kind of level... This
is very, very wooden level... It's mostly done from wood and metal textures... At least 90%
beeing wood textures! It wasn't quite as hard as KMetl #11, but hard enough to give a good
challenge, and the look of the level really gave a good mood too... Overally one of the better
KMetl levels. And non of them are bad...

Kowalski's Building Hell Ultra (DooM 2)
3 levels, graphics, sounds, music.
Made by Michael Hopkins (aka Kowalski, now Digital Thought).
Note! Some of the new source ports is recommended to run this level. Normal DooM doesn't allow
savegames because the massive size of the levels.
Huh... First large building, then HELL, and then a massive nuclear warhead that is used
to blow up the civilisation & aliens. Huh... These three levels are quite big in size and mostly
done with very good guality, although I saw some pretty bad flaws in few places... Not only
do these levels give a fairly big amount of challenge, but also a puzzle bit is included.
I don't think you can get stuck in these levels, but sometimes it definately feels like you
are... Don't worry, the answer is usually closer than you think :)

KZDoom Series Opener (ZDooM + DooM 2)
1 level, graphics, sounds.
Made by Kurt Kesler (homepage).
Kurt has decided to use the new über port, ZDooM, for his new series... Ahh, Kurt has
decided to go with base style and not only it is my favorite style, but ZDooM has now effects
that really can make base levels look good! Colored lightning, polyobjects and other stuff like
that is used in quite many places... One thing that you will notice right in the beginning is
that the enemies are now tougher! Kurt has included a dehacked patch that makes some enemies
stronger and that way more dangerous... This level is quite challenging even on HMP, and on
UV it's just perfect for me. Traditionally Kurt has also included a pack of cacodemons (someone
could call them flying tomatoes...) that you can shoot down with rockets... I always love it
when Kurt includes them :)
If you look carefully at the screenshot (enlarge it) you will see a stealth imp in it... There
was several stealth enemies too in this WAD.
