Four clean deathmatch levels, probably the best you'll ever play ;-)

  2. Multiplayer Deathmatch Cooperative PWAD

This one's made for cooperative deathmatch, meaning that you will have to play two on two to reach some of the items. It also shows some, well, somewhat "advanced" techniques, i.e. the possibilities that come with the use of "dummy sectors". Go look at it! And don't miss the spot in the arena where you can make yourself invisible by the push of a button. It is marked by a computermap and an imp. Stop right there and press the switches around you (that you can't see;) It also has a terminal with various pages of information about the level, a number-coded door and much more.

  3. The DANDY Deathmatch series NO.4

The forth of the DANDY Deathmatch series for DOOM ][. Ok, I have decided that, since DOOM is going to be old news soon (with QUAKE comming out next year) I am gonning to make at least 10... hopefully more. Number 5 is already getting close.

    --==================================--

This level (and series) is designed for nothing more than DEATHMATCH, and this one for particularly fast DM. NO ARMOUR or HEALTH bonuses. (except one little on in number 4 ;) Don't complain until you play, this makes for a much faster, furious, closer and alround more fun DM. Once your down your down there isn't anything you can do about it, and this calls for different tatics. ENJOY IT!!! Sorry 'bout the lack of plot!!! :)

Dandy 04: This level is an outside arena, the "2-way elevators", make this WAD somewhat special. It adds an entire new feel for DM. Makes you check your arse alot while you are waiting for an elevator... very nerve racking!

WEAPONS/AMMO: Shotgun + some shells Chaingun + some clips S Shotgun + some shells Rocket + and a couple Plasma + NO cells BFG 9000 + NO cells

  4. 8-BALL.WAD

This is a THEME wad. Gee, I wonder if you can figure out the theme by it's name. It's kinda tight for 4-player, but it's a neat layout. There should be plenty of ammo and weapons to please anyone.

This is a THEME wad. Gee, I wonder if you can figure out the theme by it's name. Or maybe you'll get it by looking at the map. Either way, you 'might' enjoy the tapestries. I humbly apologize to anyone who is offended by the tapestries. (There are 4 of them).

Wad is good for 3 and best with 4. No Co-op starts, monsters or exit. Feel free to edit it to suit your tastes if you like.

  8. TRIO DeathMatch for DooM II

TRIO - an ultimate DooM II DM experience! The game begins at a medium pace with "Fragging", where hunting down your enemy is THE key to success. All weapons are present, but the bigger guns are harder to find! The DeathMatch then proceeds to a frantic pace with "Gnash", a small WAD pumped with adrenalin. Success is based on skill and anticipation. The BFG is present, but getting it leaves you vulnerable... The pace lessens just a little for the final level, "Peace" - a true classic! This total test of strategy is a mind game, where the aim is to control the match using rockets AND access to the MegaSphere! There are many dark places to hide, so you can ambush the enemy. Force your opponent to take desperate measures with a systematic massacre, and watch your frag count jump!

These WADs provide a good cross-section of DooM II DeathMatch levels. It provides hours of FRENZIED, FRAGGING FUN! (I guess that's a bit of a clich‚ in the DooM world now...)

  12. The DANDY Deathmatch series NO.3

The third of the DANDY Deathmatch series. Don't ask me how many are going to be in it... I am not sure!! 5-10 my guess. Anyway when I have finished the series I will compile all of them into one WAD called DANDY!.WAD so be on the look out for 0DANDY!.ZIP

Dandy 03: This level is well, brownish using alot of BRICK9 a lot like DANDY02 texture wise... nice layout. COOL!!

Dandy 03 originally was going to be like an underground arena... using stone2 *?* and METAL2... However, ideas began to run short and after many weeks of nothing the entire level was stopped (might turn into DANDY04 :) )... the level that you now have on your HHD was nearly completed in ONE (1) DAY!

  15. SATAN's Library

You've always hated your local librian. She makes even Rossanne look small and undernourished. Apart from the fact that she is well, some what large she also is very mean and horrible . However, during one of your visits you notice a strange _gurgle_ sound coming from the toilet. You are reading a large book titled 'One billion and one ways to crash Microsoft Windows' and the noises begin to disturb you. Annoyed you burst into the cubicle. The sight before your eyes is probably the most digusting known to man. The librarian is litterally stuck to the toilet seat!

"Help me!!, the toilet is eating me!!" she pleads.

Trying not to be sick, you run over to her covering your eyes. She grabs onto your arm and trys to pull herself away. With a large heave the obese woman 'POP's from the seat and lands in the corner with a large That is not it however, seamingly aggravated by the removal of it's meal the toliet begins to SUCK violently. The air around whips and a roll of toilet paper gets sucked deep within. It still obviously is not happy and the force increases, tearing you from where you lie on the ground. As you fly towards to toilet from hell you scream out but the sound of the rushing air smothers it. The last thing you remeber it a warm_wet_smelly_squishy feeling, you blank-out.

    -------------------------------------

Oh dear, seems like you are in Hell, and you've found SATAN's library. The large wooden building seems errie. It is not particulary scary though, not for Satan's library. In fact, it is pretty damn dosile... no blood or lava anywhere. Maybe there is a secret entrance to SÀîŸ's Library, it is meant to be pretty scary and awful. It's here somewhere, maybe a bookshelf or two hold the answer? Perhaps an underground scary slimey dribble device that pulsates will help you out? Anyway, better find SÀîŸ's Library 'cause it is way scaryier than any SATAN's one. It is boring :)

  18. Hangar18

This deathmatch, in my opinion, is the best deathmatch PWAD you'll ever find. This is like no other PWAD in the sense that it is complex, well thought out and creative. Not to say that there aren't good PWADS floating around on BBS's, but normally when you download a DOOM PWAD you find a sloppy level that has no symmetry or complex design patterns. This is my 5th level (worth counting), and I believe it is my greatest accomplishment to date. It has taken me about 3 1/2 months, some weeks with little or no work, but none the less I have worked very hard on this! Being a frequent deathmatch player I incorporated all the elements that I have observed are the best for DOOM combat. There are no monsters since they just distract the player from his opponent and the weapons only appear when DOOM2 is set for deathmatch. All the textures "fit", there are no "that's good enough for fuck'n us" jobbies, and the layout is full of nooks and stuff so you can surprise your opponent with a rocket or two.

  19. Four Destroy

I got motivated in making this wad after looking at DANZIG1.WAD (a VERY good deathmatch wad). This wad is very small and encounters between players are very quick. Every weapon with the exception of the beserk pack is available. Also you start right on top of a weapon so there is no need to go hunting. It is best that this wad be played with the -nomonster parameter. If monsters are used, use the respawn parameter and be prepared to stay out of the middle halls. There are 4 secret rooms with ammo in them; two of which are the 'key' to exiting the level (multiplyaer exit only).

  21. Three small deathmatch levels

This is a collection of three deathmatch WADs. These levels were made specifically for deathmatch, and primarily for two-player deathmatch. They are small and simple so it runs quickly with modem play; none of that damned slowdown that occurs with some of the complex WADs (where the author tries to make it nice and pretty). It is almost all action on two player..so three or four player would be very hectic. E-mail me if u do it with more than two players; I'd like to know how many frags u get. ;) The best level for more than two-players would be level 3. You'll find that a lot of the action revolves around the room with health in it. Happy fragging!

  22. 30 Small DOOM II Deathmatch Wads!

I have downloaded ninety of the smallest deathmatch wads I could find and combined them into three separate combo wads -- 30WADS1.WAD, 30WADS2.WAD AND 30WADS3.WAD.

Here was my criteria for determining if a wad made the final cut:

    1. The wad was posted to ftp.cdrom.com between May and July, 1995 (this puts it into the deathmatch2 directory).

    2. The zipped wad was less than 20k. (Or at least less than 30k.)

    3. The author gave permission for compilations. (I tried to check this pretty thoroughly.)

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
