  1. Boner's Birthday Wad

A birthday tribute to a Deathmatch buddy of mine. It's not very fancy, so it's not slowed down by unnecessary graphics. Just a good deathmatch level. Lots of powerups and weapons, and more than one way into every room and area. Several teleporters for that best of frags, the telefrag!!!

Please e-mail me with any comments or suggestions. This is my first distributed WAD attempt.... You like it? You hate it? Let me know!!!

  2. CyberFun

One room Courtyard with a secret. Behind the platforms there are warp pads to get onto the platforms. And when you get the BFG you are warped into the center cage. Oh by the way, since the level is small there are a lot of frags, so I added a cyber-demon to liven things up. BEST IF PLAYED ON OLD-DEATHMATCH WITH RESPAWN (respawn cyber demon). Old-Deathmatch because you don't last long enough to run out of ammo, and you need to get weapons, and fast. You warp infront of weapons. This is a high pased wad, and very fun. !NEW SOUNDS AND MUSIC TOO!

  5. cochrans.wad

This is my 5th level and my best. I took everything I know about deathmatching and stuck it into this level. You will always have a weapon. Any time you re-appear you start in a separate room away from the lvl that has all weapons. So no more excuses like "I didn't have a gun". Also there is one mega w/2 lifts accessing it. If you hear a switch in the level you know they are at the mega. Learn where the teleports go to. They are the key to this level.

  7. BEATLE.WAD for DOOM II!

BEATLE.WAD is a single level deathmatch wad. I tried to incorporate the things that make deathmatch fun (and left out the stuff that sucks, i.e. chaingun vs. BFG, beserker boxes, etc.).

  11. Buzzard's Arena level 1 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Replacement level for MAP01 for Doom II There is no particular theme or story for this wad, it is just a place where virtual people may get together and kill one another without getting any blood on their clothes.

This wad is designed for a paticular type of DM fighting. There are very few 'quick' frags when playing but rather each battle is normally a sustained test of dodging and and firing skills. Some people have commented that it is too easy for the wounded to simply run away. Well there is no 'simply' running away with this wad - mouse users will particularily like the long corridors down which can be chased the wounded opponent firing away at their back with the gattling gun. And transports, well we all know the hazards of using transports when the opponent is nearby.

This wad is the culmation of about six months of playing two player DM with many people. (At the time of release it has not yet been played by 3 or 4 player ... though it should be very good for that - i'ts quite large)

There is an exit ... try not to use it until you actually want to exit.

Pentagon shaped outline, with most of the health in the center room, so you must fight over who gets it for there is a limited ammount of it. The higher the skill level the more abundance of better weapons.

  15. Catch'em and Kill'em I

This DOOM II pwad was designed with 2/4-player deathmatch in mind. It's got no monsters UNLESS you use -SKILL 4 or 5. This will present you with a "Final Enemy" like the dude on level #32 (I'm to lazy to put monsters in, so this way, it'll randomize it for me :) Lots of dark corners/rooms to hide in to surprise your buddy. All weapons except the Plasma Gun and the BFG9000 are there, you've just got to look for them (I dont like the P.G. or BFG in deathmatch... spend a long time getting ammo and one flukey shot from the BFG and your SCReWeD! and the P.G. is a stupid weapon! (:-)

Also, if you're wondering what the "jail" is for, well, notice the door can only be OPENED like normal. It has to be closed from another spot and CANT be opened from the inside. You take it from there... >:-)

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
