  1. PN Slime Base

The Doom guy is going to the store to buy tacos, but on the way home the monsters steal them! He follows them to the fabled PN Slime Base, maintained by the evil PN Corporation who for some reason works for the UAC and they have some of their crates in there.

The Doom guy asks for the tacos back, because he could never bring himself to harm a monster. They give an apology and return his tacos, then invite him inside to play Scrabble! The Doom guy says he would love to, and that he will see them there soon! The truth is, though, that the Doom guy was lying and he wants to destory all the monsters.

The tacos can wait. There's Hell to pay.

Rarely do you get a wad released that contains only levels using the Doom2 Wolfenstein textures. In my earliest days of WAD Designing I enjoyed making Wolfenstein themed levels but many were not released. But here I bring you exclusive Wolfenstein remakes of 11 selected Doom/Doom2 Maps using only the Doom2 Wolfenstein textures. I reccomend that you play each level from a Pistol Start. The list of levels are shown below.

  7. The Portal to Hell

This is my first level for Doom2 and I think it came out pretty good. You are stuck inside a marble fortress and you must clean it out and escape. Once you find the Portal to Hell, you are in for a massive fight. Good luck!. This is quite a large level with over 400 monsters on UV so be very careful.

  12. Paradise 4, The Return To Hell

After the mayhem that I was just put through, I could no longer stay in that cell I called a home. All the blood shead, the nightmares still haunted me. I decided to move on and start a life elsewhere. I thought, I could take on just about anything. Suddenly I blacked out. When I awoke I found the back of my head to be bleeding. Someone had knocked me unconciuos. It seems as though I had been left for dead. A trail of blood was in front of me. If I was going to find out just who brought me here, I would have to follow the trail of blood. For the trial of blood would be my only way out.

  16. The Remains of Hell

Before the first DOOM missions, you were one of the ones "voluntarily" sent through the portal that caused so many problems in the first place. You were immediately captured and tortured repeatedly. (long expanse of time skipped) After the end of DOOM 2, with many of the structures destroyed, you were transferred to some underground caverns. During the confusion, you managed to slip a pistol in your pocket. Now, all you have to do is escape, and hopefully find your way back home. See the extra info on the bottom for more ramblings.

  25. The Phantom of the Opera

This level tries to recreate the good atmosphere of the novel, without adding new textures. I know I should have included an Opera feel instead of a cheap cinema, but I lost the first map and didn't want to rework it.

There are some tricks in this level that I recently learned. The exit labels on the opera, for example. Or the horizontal scroll effect on the organ, made without NWT. :-)

There are three secret areas on the level. Try to find them before using cheats or editing the level, as they are fun to hunt.

PD: After you get the red skull key, run!!! 0:-)

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
