  3. Beyond Kadath

This is a story-driven WAD roughly in the vein of H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. Make sure you read the back story at the end of this file as it will enhance your gameplay. This WAD was started in 1995 while I was still in college, then shelved for ten years while I participated in "Real Life". I recently had some free time and, after discovering a number of outstanding DOOM utilities (DoomBuilder is an incredible editor), I decided to part the mothballs and finish the WAD. The original WAD was greatly extended and enhanced, and I'm satisfied with the result. I hope you will be too.

  5. Team UnNamed's 2nd official weapon pack: Crimson Delights

A new weapon mod by me. Much better balancing with the weapons and internal DDFs. I hope you enjoy.

The ownt pistol is an infinite ammo last resort. The Assault SMG is for long range shooting. The Disease Dart is for large groups of weak guys. The Rotator is your adverage heavy chaingun. The Breech GL is for single, large enemies. The Bahogrem is for long range semi spread shootin The Ninth Hell is the big, badass gun.

IDKFA and press 0 for a surprise.

  8. FROM OUT OF THE WAD BIN... 'Awaken'

I started working on this wad about 2+ years ago. The story was that you were abducted by aliens and taken into their space ship and slumped onto a metal table, ready to be meddled with. You woke up somehow (hence the title) and grabbed a gun off of the body of a policeman that was slumped onto a table next to you. AND SO BEGAN YOUR ALIEN KILLING SPREE...

I quit working on it because I realised how sick I was of mapping for Doom. I was just more interested in doing graphics and etc. Not mapping. Which is sort of odd since I went on to make a few other heavely-mapped maps after this one. I guess I just didn't care enough to finish this wad. Eh.

I think the complexity of the church room is what kicked my ass in the end.

  10. Cyber Wolf

You must beat all 3 cyberdemons to win the level. You need zdoom to play this level so you can beat it properly. This is my first level and it has wolfenstein walls and cages in it and 3 cyberdemons. Once you beat them the level ends only under zdoom. Im not good enough to beat the level, but I hope you are.

PS: Thanks to Paul Corfiatis for helping me with level.

Paul: The second person I have helped make a Doom Level, I also helped my cousin Kye several years ago make a level as well.

  11. The first official weapons pack of Team UnNamed!

Team UnNamed's first official weapons pack. The next pack will be the last 1.28 weapons mod, and it will be even better than this one. Oh yeah, this one has alt fire and reloading! And please play this on UV, it is a bit unbalanced. Now for weapons.

On key 1: two weapons. Now you have a weak fast fist and the strong, slow mighty boot for alt fire. The Buzzsaw is a faster chainsaw.

Key 2: two weapons. You get a glock with an 18 round clip and a three round, less powerful (but more accurate{?}) alt fire. You also get the rotator revolver, a neat relvolver with no alt.

On key 3: two weapons. You get the incatha, a six shelled, fast loading, powerful shotgun, but it does have a small spread. Next is the elephant gun, it's a slow loading breech loader, with only 5 damage per pellet. Oh, did I mention it shoots 175 pellets? (note, due to these guns and their power, shotgun ammo and gun pick ups give you less ammo.)

On key 4: two weapons. You get a nifty russian SMG called the klobb. It's weak, but it has a 4 pellet spead and a 40 round clip, no alt. Second is the Z63, a 30 round, powerful assault rifle with a quick, accurate (but weak) 3 round burst for an alt fire.

On key 4: two guns. You have a cool plasma gun that has a spread speed shot, and a powerful but slow alt fire. You also have a sweet gun called the shell launcher. It has an accurate, plain missle, and a powerful lob missle (good for shooting over fences and stuff) and a pretty adverage reloading speed.

On key 6: one gun. You get the zodiac, a missle launcher that launches 50 dum dum rockets. Nuff' said.

Enjoy the mod, oh, did I mention you can also play this with doom 1? Heh, have fun!

  12. Apprehension

Enemy forces have in their possession a new weapon capable of explosions twenty times more powerful than a standard nuclear warhead. Codenamed the Black Death II for the widespread fear and destruction, you were sent in to steal the information and kill all resistance.

However, you were captured by the enemy forces and have become a POW. Their goal: Merciless Extermination. The day of your execution, you knock out the guard of your cell and snatch his gun. Time to kick some ass.

Secondary Objective: Escape from the complex with vital information on the enemy's weapon, the Black Death II.

    Primary Objective: Give 'em Hell.

  16. BLAZING FURY - The Last Stand Against Hell

This started out as just some random map I was making while bored for Xaser's weapons mod. Then, I showed it to some people, and they said continue it. I then decided to give it a storyline, and came up with this. Here is the story -

Its been 90 years since the human race first found out hell was real... that tragic day on Phobos... But, humans have succeeded. Yes, hell finally withdrew its army. It gave up. It all started to turn around 30 years after the war started when the world goverment permenantly shut down the UAC, they were just causing more and more problems. It was their fault. 5 years after the fall of the UAC, 5 long years, hell finally gave up.

It went back to where it came from, and has never been seen again... Now, years later, you, a W.G.A. Space Marine, has been assigned to guard a goverment base while everyone left it because of a radiation leak. You were ordered to patrol the outside of it. For 9 hours, nothing happened. Then, IT happened. Hell reinvaded, with stronger demons, better forces, and a vengance. You land your craft on the landing platform just outside the entrance to the base and rush in to see something like you have never seen before... you suddenly remember your training... it was an imp. You pull out your cobra and fire. You immediately radio command and tell them what happened. They run a CCFG scan and tell you something like you have never heard before... hell had used its own "Core of Evil" to open a new gateway, it was the only way they could with such little power they had left. If you find this "Core", it will end. All of it. Hell will truly be dead. ALL of evil will be eliminated over all time. Adam and Eve never would have never eaten that fruit... 9/11 would have never happened... The Holucaust would have never happened... and the tragic invasion of earth would have never happened... and you could make it happen. Command tells you that the Core is not far from your position, just across the lava river, the main teleporter could get you to it. Then, you should be able to destroy it, but you have been warned of heavy resistance and all that evil concentrated in one spot can make demons just... appear... out of nowhere, so you are warned to watch out. You step a little further into the base this time to find another imp... This is it, just like the man who survived Phobos and ended the earth invasion, only something much bigger. You inhale deeply and cock you gun.

    God Speed marine.

  17. Candles On The Ceiling

Arieken and I have been getting fed up with boring old traps that usually come in levels these days. This inspired me to start this Wad. This wad is loaded with complete 'freakout' traps, above and beyond simple crushing ceilings and tripcord-opens-monster -doors traps. Brains ARE required, as you must solve twisted puzzles and evade dangerous bosses if you wish to get out of this level alive.

If a trap looks too cheesy, it probably isn't.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
