  1. The Citadel of Fear

This time I made a single, but large and very detalied level. Challenge is good and ammo is very balanced, so if you waste too much, then you'll be punching monsters. There are some traps, too. ZDoom is required, becasue of some ZDoom effects.

  2. Blood Pentagram

The first level in a planned series of Legacy maps, which is beginninmg to look like a new megawad idea..... I decided to make a small map with a pentagram design that I dreamt up while editing other wads and this is the result. The map contains some basic Fraggle Scripting and a couple monster variarions. There is no story crap at the moment. :p

  4. BBG Speedmapping Compilation #1

This is a compilation of the WADs entered in BBG's speedmapping exercise. Participants were given 100 minutes to create a Doom or Doom 2 level on a certain theme.

This week's theme is to try to create Doomguy's home, attacked by Demons et al.

  5. Cybmapping!!

This is a compilation of six maps for speedmapping. Nick Baker didn't show up for whatever reason, so everyone nominated me to host.

    Pasty McPaste from the webpage:

The theme: Make a map07 replacement, that is make it so that a floor tagged 666 lowers (to lowest) when all Mancubuses die and another floor tagged 667 raises when all arachnotrons die. You can make it for vanilla doom, boom, or zdoom (the final wad will be for zdoom). Feel free to be creative if you use boom or zdoom with convayer belt dummy sectors etc (that kill mancubuses or something) and if you use zdoom you don't even need to use mancubuses and arachnotrons.

  6. Installation B

Part Thirteen. Installation B is another tech-base map in the World's End series, it has taken a millenia to finish due to lack of motivation and time. Larger than the previous one and more challenging, I used this level to experiment with some tech-base geometry I had on my mind. Don't expect Installation C any time soon, ap_10.wad is still awaiting my attention!

  10. Arch-Vile's Oddness 1 & 2

Theese two .WADs, with their relative demos (.lmp files!) show some oddnesses of the Arch-Vile's behaviour: their suicidal tendency and a battle between themselves! If you want to see the Arch-Viles fighting, launch ZDoom 2.0 beta 38 (I recorded the demo with it and this oddness works certainly with this version of ZDoom) with the following parameters: ZDoom -file arch2.wad -playdemo arch2.lmp -warp 1 -skill 3

If you want to see Arch-Vile's suicidal tendency, launch always the same version of ZDoom (2.0 beta 38) with the following parameters: ZDoom -file arch 1.wad -playdemo arch1.lmp -warp 1 -skill 3

    Enjoy yourself! He, he! =)

  12. CONGESTION CONTROL 2

Like it's predecessor, "Congestion Control", this map, "Congestion Control 2" is a fast-paced and fun Doom II level. It also features a unique visual style (different from the first one).

This level REQUIRES an engine that removes the original Doom's limits. Boom and anything upward will do just fine.

  13. ALPHA: One Nerd And His Doom

This wad is the prequel to GAMMA. I implied that the story would make sense once you played the prequel, so here's the story: Colonel Burlap, Linguica's commanding officer and long time friend has asked him to reclaim the denture factory that has been overrun by demons. Something's fishy here. Luckily he installed a psychic data link into his forehead that allows him to communicate telepathically through computer terminals. Oh and his girlfriend Alyssa went missing.

  15. BELLA

10 Levels for Zdoom, Plus 2 secret levels. Each level has all new challenges awaiting you. Plenty of use of the features in Zdoom like stealth enemies. There are also some new enemies capable of peforming the most unexpected tricks. There is no scripting this wad because I havent figured it out. There are 3 new types of Cacodemon, 1 new Cybderdemon, 1 new Mancubus 2 new Hell Knights. You're mission is to Save the backpack from the white Super Cybderdemon and kill yet another giant spider. Secret exits are in Level 1 and 8, both are extremley difficult to figure out, but the secret levels are the most stunning.

  16. Installation A

Part twelve in the World's End series. This level is the kind of tech-base map I like, the atmosphere of Doom, the abstract design of Doom2 combined with today's standard of gameplay. ap_012.wad was designed to be fun, but not easy. Gameplay is balanced and difficulty settings + cooperative play are fully supported.

  18. Bloodworks

This wad uses many "tricks" not specific to any port to create a tremendous 3d atmosphere including but not restricted to over/under bridge effect, room over room, and more. It is compatible and will only work with Zdoom and Legacy as far as I can tell. It will NOT work with GL ports or Vanilaa Doom2. The textures use were mostly taken from a texture wad released by Nick Baker originally slated for Episode 5 of the Nightmare Project but which apparently never got off the ground. The original file has been altered dramatically with a bunch of new custom textures created by myself and Shitbag.

  19. Flames Of Revenge

This level is essentially shaped as a labyrinth and the gameplay is based on the same concept of "Final Doom: Plutonia Experiment" MAP11 - Hunted. This level will be part of my current project "City Of Dis" a hub consisting of 4 levels.

BTW, the title for this map was inspired by listening to a song called "Flames Of Revenge" included in the album "Legendary Tales" from the Italian Epic-Metal band Rhapsody.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
