  1. Bushface

Bushface (or "Face of Bush", as I originally called it) is a silly HUD face replacement. I originally released it in 2004 to Doom Connector community, and now it's 2015 and I decided to upload it to the idgames/ archives so it can be preserved for all of eternity. This upload is in its unchanged form, as I've also found a modified version of Bushface on the Internet. I even preserved the old text file that can be found in this .zip archive.

Bushface has brought much joy for me and my friend in cooperative games. I found it by accident on my Linux box and I'm glad it didn't get lost forever in some horrendous hard drive crash or something...

  5. Random Deaths & Decoration v1.5 Final

This is a gameplay mod that provides enhancement to vanilla monsters but maintains balance to the original gaming experience.

Nearly all monsters have multiple death sequences, dead things and gore are randomized and a couple other surprises.

Smooth animations have been implemented for most monsters (but not death states) as well as a few other additions added in 1.2, the earlier version.

One large change in 1.5 is the implementation of the unused zombieman and sergeant rotation sprites that Romero posted on December 10th, 2014 in place of the ones used in 1.1 and 1.2.

There are no weapon changes at all so if you want to load up your favorite weapons mod that doesn't alter monsters, make sure you load it up before it.

There is now a separate version for Zandronum now, which works 100% due to extensive online multiplayer testing.

After getting burnt out on Brutal Doom, I still wanted vanilla gameplay but I liked having alternate deaths for the monsters (and other things) so I put together this for my entertainment and yours.

  12. Brutalist Doom

Brutalist Doom is a WAD that retextures Doom to a have a Brutalist architecture. From Wikipedia:

"Brutalist architecture is a movement in architecture that flourished from the 1950s to the mid-1970s, descended from the modernist architectural movement of the early 20th century. Brutalism became popular with governmental and institutional clients. Examples are typically massive in character (even when not large), fortress-like, with a predominance of exposed concrete construction."

Critics of the style have described it as "cold-hearted", "inhuman", "hideous", and "monstrous", and for projecting an atmosphere of totalitarianism and urban decay. Brutalist Doom recreates this atmosphere, primarily through the use of a replacement TEXTURE1 resource, but also with a custom dehacked patch, texture replacements and a custom palette.

  15. Deathmatch Guns by DoomKid

Am I the only one who likes the thought of a gun mod for Deathmatch that isn't over the top? I've seen many mods out there like Brutal Doom, Real Guns Advanced and even Burl Tumd, and while they're all REALLY fun, they seem to make things just a tad too unbalanced for Deathmatch play. (If you haven't played those wads, go do it now.) The aim of this pack is to keep the guns feeling like classic DOOM guns, while souping them up just a tad and keeping them fair. The fist is now a bayonet that deals just over double damage. The pistol is now a machine gun, so no more running arround with the pea shooter! The shotgun is now automatic, making it a fair fight against the SSG, which is also slightly more powerful. The chainsaw now has 2 blades - the most unoriginal idea in Doom history, but damn, I love it anyway. It deals double damage as well, of course.

I've seen a lot of allies doom wads out there but this one is unique, the allies are almost like bots: They can pickup objects, they can use differents weapons and much more. These bots are "Vanilla Doom" style so don't expect them to jump, duck or swiming.

Unfortunately, after only a few years of apparent calm, the state of things suddenly degrades - a sinister plague starts decimating the population of Parthoris, and everything seems to turn hopeless and doomed - save for a relatively small congregation of sombre, dark-dressed, cloaked individuals that reunite under a secret congregation labeled as 'The Serpent Cult'. In a distant epoch, this land had already been saved once by a legendary elven hero... 18. Taggart Difficulty Mod (Version 1.8)

This is a simple enhancment mod I made for my own personal use. Beautiful Doom is a great mod, but I wanted something more traditional to the original Doom. I stayed simple and true to the game, but still ended up with an enhancement. I more or less took resources from permissable WADs and brought them together. I evolved this mod until it was something that I thought was cool.

I've always loved DooM, but because I'd gotten so good at it after years of play it wasn't a challenge. So, I took it upon myself to create a difficulty mod - so BOOM. Here it is. Look the the included Features.txt for a full feature list.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
