  2. Umaga Beast

This monster is a rather interesting one to play with. He uses a poison projectile that slowly degrades your health unless you pick up the blood health potion. His low-range, but lethal, flame breath is frightening. Perhaps the creme-de-la-creme feature of him is his ability to teleport you to any level's start. But beware! Don't stand in that same spot too long >:)

  3. Crab: Thrown Together Weapons That Work

You know that crab enemy from Mega Man 9? Yeah, this has nothing to do with it. :P

Crab is a weapon mod that isn't fully serious, and it's notable that there are very few weapons that you'd actually find in real life. You can count those on one hand, even.

So, you may ask, is there any backstory to this, like Zero Prophet's Zero Tolerance, WildWeasel's Diaz, or even Xaser's Zharkov Goes to the Store?

You could say that Crab is an military agency that specializes in unorthidox weaponry, but if your that starved for a story you probally shouldn't be playing DOOM in the first place. :P

Also, this is going to be my second wad on the /idgames archive, the first being that stupid "no pistol start" thing.

  4. Doom Monster Randomizer

Are you tired of playing a level and knowing just what to expect? Then this is the mod for you!

The Doom Monster Randomizer is a mod for G/ZDoom that uses custom spawners to randomize monsters. There are two editions: vanilla and enhanced.

The vanilla edition is recommended for those that want to fight the original monsters with a few custom ones. The vanilla edition includes 5 new enemy types: the chaingunner for the Ultimate Doom, the Nightmare Imp, the Lost Spectre, the Hell Spectre and the Red Baron. The new monsters are mainly variations on the old ones that add a little variety without being excessive.

The enhanced edition is for those that want lots of custom monsters. Almost every original monster is randomized, with the Arch Vile being the only monster that isn't. All of the custom monsters were chosen from the Beastiary based on how well they compliment the originals. As an example, expect various classes of imps to spawn where imps normally do along with the original variety. Each monster class has no more than 5 varieties, with most having 2 or 3.

Monster spawns are weighted based on what monster would normally appear. For example, the standard imps should appear the most frequently, followed by Nightmare Imps and so on.

As a result of randomizing monster spawns, difficulty can be erratic. Overall difficult is usually slightly higher. If you're having a tough time, trying switching to a lower difficulty or use the vanilla edition, which has less randomization.

This mod will not work with any mod that replaces the existing monsters. This mod will work with most custom levels, but may not work with heavily scripted ones. Weapon mods work great and are recommended!

  11. Satanic

Satanic is a hardcore and (I think) challenging ZDoom weapon/gameplay mod. The player becomes a necromancer, who has joined the eternal war. So, you'll have a chance to use both the darkest spells of the underground necromaniac cult and the fire-arms (who would be so careless wandering the Doom world without a gun, huh?)

The name of this mod came from the Warcraft III map 'Defence of the Ancients' (aka DotA), where player could assemble an artifact called Satanic, which granted player the ability to steal his enemies' life when attacking.

If you don't like the marvellous noir palette provided by Post, just remove the Noir.wad from the Satanic.pk3

It is strongly recommended to read the detailed description which could be found in the satanic.txt before playing this mod.

  14. MWeaps

My first attempt to make a weapons .wad, Mweaps didn´t go as bad as I thought. This mod replaces all original Doom 2 weapons (With exception of fists and chainsaw) with new weapons of my own imagination. The weapons are:

Slot 2 -> The Uzi - A hand sub-machinegun in its burst mode.Useful at all ranges. Slot 3a -> The Sniper rifle - A very powerful weapon but with a slow firing rate. Not recommended for close combat. Slot 3b -> The Mega Shotgun - A devastating weapon, but innacurate at long range.Best for close combats. Slot 4 -> M16 Rifle - As powerful as the Chaingun, but with a faster firing rate.Excels at close combat. Slot 5 -> Baron Powers - A strange potion that gives you the powers of a Baron of Hell.Good at all ranges. Slot 6 -> Dual Railguns - Less powerful than the sniper rifle, but faster firing rate.Quite better at close combat. Slot 7 -> The BattleHammer - The name comes from ´´Metroid Prime Hunters´´ but its not the same weapon. More devastating than the BFG9000.

  15. Mechatron

Final version features modified heating-cooling system and works fine in coop game.

Mod idea and most of the sounds originally by WildWeasel. He hadn't yet finished his mod at that moment, nd I borrowed his idea (with his permission). This mod puts the doomguy into armored assault mecha with 5 weapons, 1000 armor points which absorbs 100% of the damage until it's compromised, and has unique cockpit and crosshair for every weapon. The mod is meant to make you overpowered, so don't play it if you don't like it.

And watch the heat meter! Its maximum is 100 and it can prevent you from shooting. Better read story.txt for more information about UAC Armored Combat Suit.

In addition the mod turns caco's blood to blue, hellknight's and baron's to green and also contains animated blood decals I used in Beautiful Doom.

  16. Player Class Switch Proof-of-Concept Demo

This is a Proof-of-Concept of a player class switch system that i was originally planning to implement in DuduKrazy's Guns III. Unfortunately, the system had some major exploits regarding the player health and armor. So i decided to scrap it.

Note: i'm releasing this wad as-is. I know there are some bugs remaining. Feel free to use the resource in your wad. (Provided that you can fix the bugs)

This is a modification of "Beautiful Doom" by Jekyll Grim Payne. All of the things like shell casings, extra blood, and particle effects have been removed to make the wad more server-friendly. I made this entirely for online servers, and nothing more. All that's retained here are the weapons and sounds along with the powerup changes. If you wanted this for single-player, I highly suggest you get the original dbeauty.wad instead!

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b
