  1. dhbarrel.zip

If you use the patch BARREL1, you may be surprised by some rather unusual dancing leprechauns and flamingos (no, barrels, of course!).

By using the patch called ARMY1, you can fight an army of other players. Ever wanted to deathmatch against more than 3? Say, 100? This is a simulation of what it might be like - everywhere you go, there's green, indigo, brown, and red space marines, and they're all trying to kill YOU!

  4. another1.zip

Well, everyone keeps u/ling dumb .deh files, so I decided to upload a cool one. This one will speed up the shotgun, chaingun, and handgun proportionately, i souble your ammo max, and double the # of shells/bullets you get from all shell & bullet bearing items.

Warning: The chaingun is so fast, it will fire ALL of your shots (400) in less than 30 seconds, so use it sparingly. It's good for when you're surrounded and need something to kill a lot in a hurry, but most of the time it's just a waste of ammo.

All things considered, these changes balance out and make doom a little less stressful without completely stacking the deck for the player (unlike the Super Shotgun..) Ayone who, like me, isn't quite a doom master, and wants a little edge, get it.

  6. Land-mines for DEATHMATCH

this replaces kaboom.zip that didn't work very well. It seems that increasing the number of rockets you pick up each time would hang some deathmatches (wierd - I think it has to do with to many objects) Anyway, this one works and is still a "blast" to play.(groan)

  8. Flamethr.deh

Flamethr.deh is patch file for Dehacked 1.3 and was made to work with version 1.2 of the REGISTERED doom.exe file. This patch replaces the plasma rifle with the flamethrower everyone has been wanting. Also included is a batch file that makes installation so easy that even all of you non-hackers can do it :).

  9. Land-mines for DEATHMATCH

Land-mines for DEATHMATCH, well for any DOOM game, but best in DEATHMATCH

I basically used Greg Lewis' excellent DOOM.EXE hacker ( DEHACKED 1.3 ) to make the rockets motionless and partially invisible (like spectres). I also made them vulnerable to attack so that you can clear them if you find them. In addition, I changed the amount of rockets you pick up with the launcher to 6 (after much research, I and my beta-tester have determined that only being able to lay 2 mines per life SUCKS!).

There are three other cool things.

I'm listing these features seperately because I did not plan on them they just happened.

    1. If you lay the mine, it won't hurt you in that life. However,if you die, come back, and then run in to it, you will die again.

    2. You will get a FRAG credit if someone hits a mine you laid, but you must stay alive until then or no credit.

    3. If you shoot a mine once with the pistol, it will float off slowly in the direction of the shot (carefull, twice and it blows). We have not yet discovered the full benefits of this, but it's still pretty cool to do).

  10. UNDEAD12.DEH

Kill enemies at your own risk, for the tormented souls of the ones you have slain may come back to haunt you.

Don't leave Imp bodies lying around -- evil spirits will possess them, making the once easily defeated monsters invulnerable to your most powerful attack! It usually only takes about one minute for an evil spirit to locate a dead imp's body and possess it, so it's almost imperative that imp's must be destroyed completely, reduced to nothing more than blood and guts, preventing evil spirits from taking their bodies. I advise using a rocket launcher, berserk fists, or a BFG9000 against the imps. If you see an imp rise from the dead before your very eyes, run from him because once an evil spirit has possessed him, he is invincible.

Humans have something the other enemies don't -- a soul. Killing a sergeant or trooper has serious consequences -- their ghosts will come back to haunt you. Ghosts are able to walk through walls, float through the air, and appear partially invisible to the world of the living. They're much tougher to kill than their former human selves, especially since they're so light; you can shoot one with a shotgun, and he'll fly back into the wall only to re-emerge later when you least expect it. They're fast too -- probably three times faster than they were as humans. And especially watch out for trooper ghosts, as I'm told they have suicidal tendancies.

Here is the patch that brings the undead into your DOOM experience, so load it and try it ... if you think you can handle it!

  12. Firework.deh

Firework.deh is a DEHACKED ver. 1.2 patch file. I upped the ammo values for bullets and shells, and changed PUFF to BFG blasts you can detonate, and changed BLUD to Rockets blasts you can detonate. Grab your shotgun or chaingun and watch the fireworks display! But watch out for those sergeants, on shotgun blast and its all over.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
