  1. DMSFG

Well, here it is: 9 completely new Doom levels all play tested and ready to go. I have fixed the problem with multi-player games. They are all set up for different difficulty levelsand multi- player games. I suggest doing them all in order without using any cheat codes.

Things to think about: 1) Most enemies fight each other! (Imperative for level 1) 2) You can't get everything you see. 3) You can't kill 100% of the bad guys on some levels. 4) Don't use cheat codes! 5) Don't spend all your time looking for secrets. There aren't very many and they are mostly in obvious places. 6) Try to get through without the temptation of cheat codes. 7) You can kick major demon but on every difficulty level without using any cheat codes. 8) Save the game a lot on level 8!

  4. Sorry, just boring old DMJON!

Ok, this doesn't really have a theme as such, it's just the only level that I really got finished. It's more a collection of things I tried out to see how they looked - personally, I think it looks good. It was in fact finished about 6mths ago, but I never intended to 'release' it, but the few people I gave it to told me I should - fools! There's no theme, hence no name.

  5. Be Quick or Be Dead

No story to this WAD. I put the emphasis on traps and hidden rooms. You need to beware when backtracking, but its necessary to go back through some rooms. You must have the red key to exit but it will not be easy to get. If you are quick and can hide, you can get it. Please let me know if too easy.

  7. DemonGate v.1.0

Scenario: You have been sent to a high security complex to find out why you have lost communication with the building. When you arrive via teleporter, you discover that the building has been overtaken by demons. They have established a gateway to the Underworld in the caves west of the building, and you must stop them from getting out. Since the building was highly secured, you will find weapons and ammo to help you out, but you will also encounter the security system in a few places. The locked doors can be unlocked using key cards, or by shuuting down the security system for that sector. You must go in and kill anything that moves, and hopefully close the gate to the Underworld.

  9. Theatre of Doom

All your buddies have gone to the movies and they've taken all the heavy weaponry with them! This level is designed as your average modern day movie theater, with a few twists. Run through your local cinema blasting all those annoying patrons in your way, demanding that they decrease the popcorn prices. Your buddies are in there, dead or alive. Can you find them and the weapons they brought with them? Good luck!

Try this small WAD as the eigth level on the first episode. It's not large, but fun if you try it starting with a pistol only! NOTE: you must warp to level 8 on episode 1 for this WAD to work, it will not work if you change the WAD to any other level.

  13. FIVE REALLY INSANE ENVIRONMENTS in DOOM.

This level pits you against five different enemies in five different environments... There are (roughly) five different types of enemies that you may encounter. The "tools" that may be useful for securing the next area are usually provided in the current area... Good luck, Colonel, We're depending on you.

This is my second shot at a doom level. I used Doom Editor (the real thing) v2.60b4. My first was not worth showing, but I like the area "outside" in this one. Very hard to finish on level 4, but it can be done.

  18. HOUSE.WAD

An amazing idea for a level: the home of a DOOM fan, but without furniture.

There are absolutely no creatures to kill in this level.

This is a close approximation of my house (location of valuables not included!). I was surprised how quickly it grew in size. Alot more could be done if changing the textures was easier.

Maybe ID could market DOOM and an editor to realtors with prefab furniture :>

  19. The Gallery

"The Gallery" was my first finished DOOM level using the DOOM editing utilities (DEU) version 5.0. Although it's a simple level, and not too hard to beat, I keep getting drawn back to it for some reason. I built it as an exercise in "limited resources". This means that you're likely to run out of ammo before you run out of enemies, so make every shot count. (And watch those corners!)

  21. Demon House: Lost Warpgate

My FIRST ever finished map released to the public. Unfortunately, don't be that impressed by its name. It used to be E1M1 of a grand old imaginary megawad (heheheh) which I gladly discarded...

While it's not the most user-friendly (read below) map, it has something new: a new monster! It's a bazooka nuts. If he gets away well, I MIGHT include him in future releases. Note: you need to use the .deh if you want the monster.

IMPORTANT: there are new flats and sprites in here. If you're playing vanilla DOOM.EXE you'll need DeuSF (found also in idgames.) It's not required with any modern source port.

HINTS (READ THESE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET FRUSTRATED!) - there's a double secret opposite to the vent; - there's a light switch somewhere in the darkening room; - DON'T WASTE TIME KILLING THINGS IN THE SLIME. WATCH OUT WHEN GOING TO THE OUTSIDE SLIME CONTROL AND SAVE OFTEN!!

Interestingly, the zombies in the slime have proven quite efficient.

Anywhoo, here's the plot. You've been teleported to an antarctic UAC Warpgate infested by demons and your mission is to seal it off from any more invaders. You need to find the maintenance card hidden somewhere in this damned old nuthouse.

  22. Confruntation with Otto

This is a remake to Wolfenstein 3-D's confruntation with Otto Giftmacher (first nocturnal mission.) It's just the boss level being remade. The chosen boss is the spiderdemon (again) not the cyberdemon, because I find the latter boring.

  25. Engine (ENGINE.WAD), Killing Zone (KILL.WAD)

ENGINE.WAD Quite a large level with lots to kill and a few puzzles to solve. I played it a couple of times so I know it can be done. Unfortunately, there's a couple of small areas where the mirroring effect persists, and I just couldn't get rid of it! I'm not going to tell you to be careful and save the game often etc etc, cos you'll play it your own way anyhow.

KILL.WAD For single play only because I still beleive most people play with themselves???? and there isn't really 2 fair starting points, altho' you may disagree.

[Authors comment about both WAD's:] I had a lot of fun creating this, I hope you enjoy playing it. Cos.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
