When you get the yellow key, you'll only have two choices: fight your way back through an impossible multitude of enemies, or line up and jump into the pit, hoping you don't land on the big guys you can hear down there.

  7. Loser

This wad is basically made for SINGLE play, but I have added some network objects. I think that now there are too many deathmatch levels and there are people who don't have a modem. You need Ultimate Doom to run the wad. I have tried to desing a slaughterhouse, with demons instead of cows. It is a level for shootgun lovers without big monsters and with lots of humans and demons waiting to be killed. I think that you may find it rather difficult, but with all that crazy doomers out there, I would like someone to tell me: " Yo!, I didn't need to save it even once to finish your wad. It was E-Z! I am definately not a loser!" If you enjoy this WAD, please email me and let me know what you liked about it, and also where you found this file (I'm curious to see how far it travels).

  8. Legion of the Damned

    Earth date - Wedensday, Febuary 12th, 2345.

Back in the labs on Kemois, there is a management meeting to decide who will be worthy of test piloting the new IFTIF (Inter-Flux Time Integration Facility) or in simple terms, the time machine. Seeing as you have single handedly kicked out the Hell spawn from Mars 17 Earth Years ago, (Earth time has become the new standard around which, all other planet time is aranged, a bit like GMT on Earth.) you are one of the canidates for the task. General Waskity has selected a spot from which to launch the IFTIF, quadrent Alpha B, sector J7GH8 - the slums of Kemois.

Now, the Department of Defence has been informed by scientists, that the IFTIF will not send people through space, only time, therefore, quadrent Alpha B, sector J7GH8 was selected because on 12/02/28 it is commonly known that the Hell Spawn were not resident in the area. Military intelligence proves that. Seeing as this is a test flight the Department of Defence did not want to send you in to a populated area. I know, you are thinking, well why don't they send you further back? The reason is that the human body cannot with stand traveling more that 20 years at a time, we think, you may transport back 20 years, and then back another 20 years, but not 40 at once, see?

The area that has been selected for launch is barren, this way the military do not risk sending you into a populated area thus you will meet no resistance and there is no possibility of any encounters of any kind.

Well, you are seated outside the briefing room, you watch the top dogs discussing your future through a partially open door, then, they come out. You are approached, and General Waskity places his hand on your shoulder and says, "Son, you are going to be taking one small step for bioman, and one giant leap for bioman kind." There is a loud round of applause as you smile, you have been waiting for something exciting ever since you came out of therepy as a result of the invasion.

You are sent to the specially constructed IFTIF truck, you see the time pad at one end, you are at the other. All along the walls of the truck there is computer machinary.

The truck sets off for quadrent Alpha B, sector J7GH8.

As you arrive, General Waskity speaks:- "Make us proud son!"

You think to yourself, "military intelligence got me into a mess through the invasion, I hope it is more accurate now. I hope there is nothing out there except the pad home."

They then walk out of the truck and seal the door. All you have to do is walk over to that time pad......let's hope that there is no building, just a desert!!!!

    THE SERIOUS DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS

Eerie, dungeon/castle type level designed for one player, or co-operative play. Many cool features, including DOOMs Donut eater! Will be used as E1M2 for a 9 level episode that I am working on. DEVINC.WAD is going to be E1M1. I will port it over to DOOM II soon. Lookout on this same FTP site for it.

This is another update, w/graphics added. Nothing major. Title screen, O.J., Rygil. (I was bored, what do you want?).

The general idea is that keys are useless. You have to find a switch that opens a door so that you can proceed. Sometimes you have to find a switch that opens a door to another switch which opens another... You get the drift.

Also keep in mind that I don't believe in back tracking unless it will be interesting. In other words, watch for monsters on the way back.

  17. LIFTLL.WAD

Developed for Single play. Difficulty settings control enemy encounters. At all skill levels the same puzzles exist. This is meant for the more thoughtful player, but at the high difficulty levels time to think might be at a minimum.

Weapons/Ammo are limited and low power, but there are enough to get you through the level. Just don't be wasteful. I haven't completed the level at high difficulty, but I've come close and I'm not the best player.

I tried to pay attention to detail and atmosphere.

The only gotcha traps are right at the starting areas. Aside from the initial pitfalls, you can return to any point. Hint: If it seems that you can't get to a key because of a blunder you've made, there is a way nearby.

Secret areas exist. Exercise good DOOM(man/woman/child)SHIP and touch all.

Games in progress can be saved.

  23. Jihad.wad

Warning: This was designed as a very tough single player wad....only one skill level is available.....and it's not easy. For this reason I am also including a walkthrough below. The hints are in the order of the game play and separated by page breaks. Health and ammo are minimal because I've maxed out the number of objects that Ver 1.1 can handle on save games. Certain parts of this Wad will require at least a 486dx266 to run tolerably

  24. Jobe

Since this was my first level, it contains a bit of everything. Traps, a few constructions, I came up with and experiments with light levels and effects. Thus, it is quite linear and therefore probably not very suited for deathmatch. But I haven't tried so far... Well, I don't like the level anymore, after playing it over and over again, so it is time to release it. Hope you enjoy it!

  25. LIGHTS.WAD

This is certainly my finest level thus far. I designed this level with the single player in mind, but the level is especially engaging when used as a deathmatch arena, so either type of player should find it a treat. The level features complex and realistic lighting effects which add tension and ambience to the level. It is quite a difficult level in Ultra- Violence mode, but I have been thorough in providing easier situations for lower skill levels. Prepare to jump with fear more than a few times in this level: I've used some surprise techniques which I have not seen used elsewhere in the DOOM .WAD world, and if an essential element of your hair style is to make all your hair stand on end, this is the .WAD for you.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
