  6. NUKE TUNNELS.WAD

You find yourself deep inside a nuclear sewage complex, with radio active sludge all around you. You must fight your way through, finding radiation suits along the way to make your journey a little easier. When you get to the tunnels, you will have three routes to choose from. Then, work your way to the outside where you will need to find the key to the control center. From there you can teleport to the exit. There is no Cyberdemon in this level.

  9. SLTRRAMA.WAD

You finally get a much needed R&R, after months of 'cleaning up' on Mars. A friend of yours suggested an interesting site on Rigel V, an ancient alien city. As you enter the system you attempt contact for permission to land, but theres no response. You set the coords for landing thinking 'maybe theres interference, after all I'm still not in orbit'. As you descend you still get static, you begin to wonder... The landing pad is empty and theres no sign of life! Somethings definately wrong! No civilian base lets anyone land for free! Just as you touch down you see an awful familiar sight, cacodemons! You see the plasma balls coming at your ship, and you panic. The first thought is if they hit the fuel you're history! Into the teleporter you go, not knowiing where you'll end up, there's no time to be picky... As you rematerialize elsewhere, you hear your ship explode. The blast nearly deafens you, typical of a warp core breach. You can only assume the landing pad is now the newest crater on this world. Now there's no way back, and you've been teleported into a court with possessed troops who are looking for new targets...

  10. SLTRFEST.WAD

Intense little PWAD! Play it and find out why I call it Slauterfest! Part of the reason is that the monsters are not deaf like they should be! The layout is intricately designed (I have an appreciation of good architechture). This is my first PWAD release, there will be more... ... I sort of rushed this for something to upload to keep my account... I promise the next one will be much better!

  12. TUNNEL.WAD

Lately, the sewers beneath the moonbase you are stationed at have been acting oddly. No plumbing works, the base is overheated, something isn't right. Then earlier this morning, a man was pulled through his shower drain by something... it wasn't a pretty sight. Now something has to be done. As you stand before the entrance to the sewer tunnels you take a glance back at your watching comrades and wonder if you'll ever see them again...

  13. SHUTDOWN!

Alien forces have taken over an old installation and activated an nuclear reactor that should have been dismantled because of its instability. It it vital that the reactor is shut down. A slight problem with navigation upon landing on the site renders the taskforce with only one man, namely (you guessed it!) you!

An update of Training.WAD [old version included in trnwadold.zip]. Fixes some bugs and some minor touch ups.

The UAC has genetically engineered the foes you met in hell from Top Secret Samples they obtained in controlled tests of teleportational gates. Now they've programed them for training operations. But when you go behind the scenes on your own investigation, you descover they're not training you... They're training them! For what? That you will discover after your done with 'em, if you can survive!

  16. The Demons' Hive

They're back. This time it's not the moons they are after, but Mars itself. There is a hive/colony on the surface, and you (lucky you!) have been chosen to lead the attack. But your company never made it down, and you are the only one left. You have some explaining to do.

Assuming, of course, that you can make it back.

This is the first four levels. I hope to have the rest of them done soon. As I finish them, they will show up at the ftp site on infant2

If you are the hack-n-slash type, you won't make it very far in these levels. Most of them require some thought, and a LOT of F6. However, I have made it through on Ultra-Violence to the end of Level 4, so it CAN be done. Good luck!

  17. SHOGUN.WAD

A difficult level but definitely not impossible. There are no traps but there are plenty of ambush areas. I designed one room to be similar to the room with the star in E1M9. The only Level Boss included are a few Barrons. All weapons except BFG and chainsaw are included. Don't rush into a room unless you want to die. Use strategy! I would have called this Ambush level but the name was already used. I am interested in what you think so don't hesitate to E-Mail me your comments or questions.

  18. ULTIMO.WAD

    Additional Notes:

ULTIMO is the ultimate DOOM treat - prepare to die ('cause it isn't easy). I designed it as a single player WAD really, but the 'start things' are in for all other modes of play. It takes me about one hour to complete all three levels, with 100% on items, kills and secrets. There is enough ammo for you to complete ALL levels even if you 'warp' straight to them.

ULTIMO is named after the new pizza that Pizza Hut introduced whilst I was building the WAD - good knows how many I got through while I was building it.

ULTIMO is my first WAD, but if it goes down well I may do some more. Any feedback (bugs, etc.) to the above email address, please. If you get stuck at any point in the game ('cause you do have to THINK in a few places) mail me and I might be able to help.

To start the game, copy ULTIMO.WAD and ULTIMO.BAT to your normal DOOM directory, and then type ULTIMO .

    Enjoy.

Steve Phelan. 1-10-94 (UK date format!).

  20. STALAG.WAD E1M1

This is my third WAD file and I think my last one too. The idea came from my friend Jose Bono who wanted a large place to run in. Well I think I over did it. It is thought as a perfect Deathmatch site to play in. But creating it was ticket out of the game with my friends. There is one small problem. I have not placed as many THINGS as I would have like to. After spending around 20 hours building it, I was not in the mood to put things all over the place. I don't mind building sectors and triggers, but placing things is my worst nightmare. If you like it just drop me a line with any sugestion or comment.

  25. SCORCHER.WAD

    THE SEQUEL TO WICKED.WAD! 2 levels - EPISODE 2 MISSIONS 1 and 2.

Contains properly aligned graphics this time.

Level 1 is a small level that takes place in a converted castle that is now center. Plenty of monsters (IMPS, SPECTRES, DEMONS, TROOPERS, AND A CACODEMON). More than enough ammo to get you through, if you can find it and make your way thru the maze. We have warp zones, turbo lifts, switches, hidden rooms, doors that open when you least expect, materializing walkways, and ????

Level 2 is a medium sized level that has a Baron Of Hell in it. Plus the BFG 9000. You leave the tech center to explore the outside of the old castle. There are acid pits, sacrificial alters, the maze-like caverns that are lit only by torches. Warp zones galore. Can you find the correct switch to open those 3 doors that are next to each other. Too many things to list.

I hope you enjoy them. Comments, criticism or ideas are allways welcome.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
