Title : Theatre of Doom
Filename : theatre.wad
Author : James Wilson (aka Shade)
Email Address : Cserve: 73651,2312
Author Notes : The author of this wad works in a movie theater,
so getting the chance to wield a shotgun in one
of his own design was a form of therapy for him.
This was my first level, and this is the Doom 2
conversion.
Description : All your buddies have gone to the movies and
they've taken all the heavy weaponry with them!
This level is designed as your average modern day
movie theater, with a few twists. Run through your
local cinema blasting all those annoying patrons
in your way, demanding that they decrease the
popcorn prices. Your buddies are in there, dead
or alive. Can you find them and the weapons they
brought with them? Good luck!
Level notes : This level is big with lots of stuff. It will run
slowly on slow computers. I tried to design it to
be difficult, but not impossible, with the theory
that lots of killin' is a good thing.
How do I start
this friggin' thing? : For those of you new to this, place the file
entitled 'Theatre2.wad' into your Doom2
directory, and then type:
'doom2 -file theatre2.wad' (leave out the
quotation marks).
This is how you load any external PWAD file
(that's what they're called), replacing the
'Theatre2.wad' with whatever the .wad filename
is.
You will get a message at startup that you
have an altered version of Doom 2, but this
is not truly the case, as the alterations
are not permanent, and go away when you reload
Doom 2. Hit 'enter' to get past this message,
and then start a normal game, and you are
ready to go.
