About This File

NOT just an upgrade to my original GENERATR.WAD! I've change a lot... Even if you've played the original... don't miss this!
- New ending!
- Cool lighting effects added!
- More (new) traps/tricks/monsters
- Monsters under the bed!
- Hear the funace in the basement running! (ooooooh)
- Now takes place at night.... scarry
- Added support for multi-player and Deathmatch
- Added difficulty levels
- Textures aligned / much better looking levels (should have always been)
- Did I say monsters under the bed?
- Levels flow into each other better (so what)

You return home to find your house infested with things worse than your (kids/in-laws/neighbors/ cousins... you pick). It's your duty to weed them out then find the passage they used to enter your life.

You find yourself teleported to the corporation responsible for selling humanity out to the hell spawn (no... not congress) and it too is over-run with nasties. Kill-em all and get past the guardian to their underground lair.

Finding the entrance to their domain, you descend and take on the minions of hell. You must deactivate the generater machine and make your way home through the main distribution teleporter.

Ahhhhh... home at last. You've got your revenge. But wait... Doom has it's own revenge on you......

This is a lot more fun than most modern wads. 5/5 from me. I love the low detail and you can see that this author was having a lot of fun with this mapset.

well considering that this was only one of the first versions of his maps its not too bad, releashed in 1995... but i realy want to know what happened to his more recent builds, using the newer engines and level design. I remember he spent years after makeing this better.

I really loved this one. It's one of those inspired WADs that makes you remember the places later, that the maps have it's own soul. It starts as a typical my home map but is well designed and in the later levels goes on to some nice buildings and interesting architectures (I love the huge pipe entrance connected with a vertical pipe) in other levels and the surprise at 3rd level finding your self at the end in your home in ruins. 5/5 - Optimus

Awesome old-school levels. First two are realistic, then it gets more abstract/hellish. The ending with the spiders and destroyed buildings was fantastic. Very cool.

This is dated... oh no, see the fucking readme!) First map is weakest one: I generally hate house-styled maps, and this is quite bad example of such. (*) Second map is slightly better (no shitty wc), but still ugly and far too easy. (**) Third map is far better - looks very original, surrealistic (look to that big silver tunnel, for example), and reminds me the MARSWAR style. (****)

A classic mapset in 1995, map12 sucks ever. Map13/14 are ok for me(but map13 isn't really fun for me). BTW, I can't exit Map12 on GZDooM(r945), but changemap can. :p 2.5/5 -playerlin

An okay levelset from 1995. Map12 is crap, but semi-detailed by "myhouse.wad" standards. Map13 is a boring, square level that has a few good details but is overall crap. Map14 is the best of the bunch, but it's still not fun. I liked the tunnel, elaborate crusher, and demolished house. Not recommended. 3/5

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
