ODESSA 3 ("Fade to Gray")

The third Odessa map takes a step up in quality from the previous two. The room layouts are more complex with better use of vertical space. There's an interesting escape room involving switches on crushers, which I honestly don't think I've seen done before in a Doom map. I wish Doomworld would let me rate this 3.5/5, but I'll have to give it 3/5 since it's not good enough to be great even for 1995 standards.

heh, you'll notice how i have my reviews after someone else's. regardless, a somewhat short offering from the Odessa wad maker, still with puzzles, but not really much in combat. it's very slow-paced but works out all the same.

Surprisingly more action-packed than it felt puzzle-oriented, but it still had its moments - namely some hidden or non-obvious switches. Didn't find myself wandering for too long without a clue and managed to finish the level at a decent time. Some cool traps on display with a few secrets spread across a classy-looking 90's PWAD layout. Interesting to play something from Bob Evans that felt less puzzle-centric and more about running and gunning around the place.
