continuum.mid Posted July 29, 2021 This release means that the IWAD MIDI Packs are complete now! To celebrate I edited this together: Which is also the first full YouTube upload of this MIDI pack, by the way :) 15 Quote Share this post Link to post

Cammy Posted July 29, 2021 So much quantity without sacrificing a drop of quality! This community's output is really something to behold. I'm almost sad we're out of IWADs to make midi packs for, it feels like the end of an era... y'know, unless someone wants to bite the bullet and write a few thousand midis for Maximum Doom. I'd eat my hat. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

I'd eat my hat. If you count Freedoom, then there still aren't any original MIDIs in Phase 1 Episode 4. Will it get a MIDI pack stay tuned oh wait, I already soft announced a Double Impact MIDI Pack :) 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
SiFi270 Posted July 29, 2021 Something could also be done for the Wraith megawads, but then for the "only replace the repeated tracks" versions you'd have to look at the tracks the originals share and decide which gets to stay in which. While I'm at it, has anyone suggested Aliens TC or Hell Revealed yet? The latter would be especially deserving of a contribution by Lee Jackson. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

If we’re doing “90s commercial wads,” the Lost Episodes don’t have any original music. Touching the Wraith soundtracks seems almost heretical to me though since they’re borderline perfect already haha. Most of the levels of the second half of Lost Episodes is straight garbage, of course, but Hell to Pay has a lot of questionable quality maps, too. Lippeth Posted July 29, 2021 I'd be interested in a MIDI pack for Alien Vendetta. Even though I have next to zero interest in being a lead for any project, if I were it would be for that. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

I could see the Lost Episode get something in the vein of Peter's Master Level MIDI Pack. Y'know, wacky tunes for a whack mappack. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
The Green Herring Posted July 29, 2021 With the release of this pack, I've uploaded renders of my track "Impending End" to SoundCloud. Original Microsoft GS version: Roland SCVA-55 version in SC-55 mode: Click through to the SoundCloud pages for each song for composer's commentary! 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

I'd eat my hat. obviously Maximum Doom shouldn't be considered, but next up can always be official maps (you already did Sewers), official addons without a custom soundtrack, and quasi-official stuff like Lost Episodes, Perditions Gate, Hell to Pay and the Heretic H!Zone episodes. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Devalaous Posted July 31, 2021 The new Map 07 midi is wonderful stuff. Worth the wait for. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

Replacement track was great, but I was looking forward alot of SoCh remix. When I saw it was remade by Myrgharok, who composed my favourite track in Ultimate Doom midi pack (it was for E2M2, I can't remember its name), I was hyped and my hype was only confirmed, it's amazing remaster! 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Cammy Posted August 5, 2021 Folks, we've made it to idgames - guess that means we're official now! Here's the link to download the TNT MIDI Pack from the archive! It's a joy to see everyone enjoying the music so much. I'm very proud of the work we all put into this, and it's gratifying to see that it's been so well-received. Thank you all. 12 Quote Share this post Link to post

Rudolph Posted August 5, 2021 Currently playing through TNT Evilution with the MIDI pack. I still have mixed feelings about the mapset, but the soundtrack makes it worth it nonetheless! 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Lippeth Posted August 5, 2021 Congrats on the release! A lot of great music has now been etched in stone, and it was great to revisit tnt.wad in general, it's been years since I last played it! 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
GarrettChan Posted August 5, 2021 Congrats on the release. I did replay the whole TNT with the midi pack, and I had a blast. Thanks everybody for making this pack. 6 Quote Share this post Link to post

I'd eat my hat. I got a suggestion for you: why not give Doom Zero an original soundtrack? Currently, it only features vanilla tracks and a handful of remixes. Also, it was featured on the Slayers Club, so it has more visibility than other megawads. Edited August 24, 2021 by Rudolph 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Cammy Posted September 5, 2021 Hey there, everyone! Last night I finally got the chance to get the full recorded soundtrack uploaded to a new YouTube channel of mine. Each MIDI has its own video so you can add individual favorites to your own personal playlists, and they're recorded with Microsoft Wavetable - the standard MIDI device many modern systems use, and the one for which many of these tracks were written and optimized. Enjoy! I might upload other Doom wad OSTs to this channel in the future if people like this formula. Let me know what you think! 6 Quote Share this post Link to post

Rudolph Posted February 3, 2022 Is MAP13's "Hey There, Moonbeam" inspired by The Adventures of Tintin's theme song, by any chance? :o 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Since it was so old (and, at the time, short) I had no idea how to rework it so I sent it over to Lippeth and he supplied some much-needed help. If I remember correctly (and listening to it now, I'm quite confident I do), it was originally inspired by Decapre's theme from Ultra Street Fighter 4. It was more obvious in the older, non-MIDI build of the song, but the inspiration is still pretty clear in a few places. Edited March 18, 2022 by Cammy 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
Doomfanatic781 Posted November 25, 2022 I’m in love with this midi pack! Everyone who worked on it did a fantastic job! It really improved a lot of the maps. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
june gloom Posted October 1, 2023 If you're looking for a version that only replaces the duplicate tracks (including Bobby Prince's Doom II holdovers) I've gone ahead and put one together. tntdupmid.zip 8 Quote Share this post Link to post
