nastybuttler322 Posted February 20, 2022 I'm on Linux and am using SLADE. I haven't figured out how to adjust the offsets of floor and ceiling flats. I'm editing a vanilla doom wad. Do I have to convert it, or can I just adjust the offsets? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
1 boris Posted February 20, 2022 You can no adjust flat offsets in vanilla. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
4 esselfortium Posted February 20, 2022 You can make a new version of the flat with the offsets adjusted, using an image editor. It would be nice if Slade had an offset graphic dialog to simplify this a bit. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
5 Gez Posted February 20, 2022 Only UDMF allows modifying flat offsets. For vanilla Doom format, you'll have no choice but to shuffle your sectors around -- or create alternate flat graphics with baked-in offsets. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 nastybuttler322 Posted February 20, 2022 Alright. I how do I do it for a GZDoom wad? 3 minutes ago, boris said: You can no adjust flat offsets in vanilla. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

And then you adjust offsets just like you'd do with walls, with the number pad in visual mod or through the properties. Here's a quick test map I whipped up in SLADE just now. offsets.7z 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
2 Roebloz Posted February 20, 2022 (edited) You can in vanilla by creating flats with adjusted offsets. Otherwise, UDMF allows you to do it natively. Anyway, welcome to Doomworld, and most importantly welcome to Doom modding! You'll have a great time. Edited February 20, 2022 by Roebloz 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
