Clippy Posted April 15, 2022 Very happy to see this has a thread because this is a masterful piece of work Everything about this is designed for fun and the Chicken theme is right up by alley I've played maps 1 through 16 on my channel and in this video at the start I mention how you should make a thread already and while it was uploading you did!! Lol. Seriously I always have a fantastic time playing these - here's my latest video 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
azerty Posted April 18, 2022 It's been a while since I played this and I kinda forgot how great this wad is. Very cool and enjoyable map. Here is the video: Here is the rest of my playthrough if anyone is interested. Some of these might be from an older version because I played this before it was released. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
TheCyberDruid Posted April 19, 2022 (edited) I didn't think that "ARCADE ACTION FEELING!" was a thing that I was missing when playing Doom, but after just having finished episode 1 I can clearly say that I missed it :D This was good. All the little tweaks (love the speech samples as they reminded me a lot of Metal Slug) add up nicely. The maps are really well designed and the encounters are superb. Fantastic stuff :) P.S.: Can we get the Revenant missle alert as a standalone wad? Please :) Edited April 19, 2022 by TheCyberDruid 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

See attached file: REVAWARE.zip It's a Boom-Compatible DeHacked patch. It might interfere with mapsets that have their own DeHacked going on, so be wary of that. Meanwhile, I'm currently working on MAP21: 4-3: Calisto Science Station. It'll be full of alien-looking chickens. Spoiler 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Clippy Posted May 15, 2022 I had to show this to @sandwedge cause it's so awesome - really fun conclusion to the episode - I think some things went off script lol - I have to watch Decino play it now - but here is my blind run The train map looked cool but I had to go - my wife started talking to me about food 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Clippy Posted June 11, 2022 HEY EVERYBODY IT'S ..... HEADLESS CHICKEN TIME! With guests @sandwedge & @MAN_WITH_GUN good times as always - fun train action - seems like the revs were pushing the train capacity limits - brilliant stuff and a fun way to start off what seems like a wacky adventure 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Chookum Posted June 19, 2022 A new map has been added to the set! Come, get some more chicken on your fork as I get into making the maps for Episode 5: That Pesky Heck! with MAP26: 5-2: Unreal Tech to compliment MAP27: 5-3: Gutsy. After getting acquainted with Heck's inhabitants, Doomguy finds themselves along for the ride in the heart of a demonic factory complex of some sort, nestled within the crags of an obsidian mountain. It would be unreal if you can find the early BFG... Editor Screenshots Spoiler In-Game Screenshots (DSDA Doom, Software Mode) Spoiler 8 Quote Share this post Link to post

I will say, its very beautiful and fun, and it knows how to limit itself so its not just slaughter maps! I guess this is my first ever playtesting part, I rate this a 9/10, it will become 10/10 probably when its fully out XD 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Clippy Posted August 3, 2022 Awesome map as always. At first it was just me but then people started showing up when I got lost. Sorry about that but eventually you er going and had a lot of fun Look forward to what you come up with next. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Chookum Posted August 5, 2022 If you put some Doom on your fork, make sure its Chicken Flavoured. Two new maps! MAP21: Callisto Science Station After stealing the escape shuttle from MAP20, you find yourself on a science station orbiting Callisto, one of Jupiter's moons. Last you heard the UAC boffins had dozens of stations like this engaging in terraforming, fusion power, and optics experiments. This one was the first to go dark, and you're going to shine gunfire into its dozens of archviles. Spoiler MAP25: Oh, Heck! You've found your way to the UAC-made hell portal that they forgot to mothball and finally incursed your way into HECK. It's going to be nothing but hot starts all the way down in Heck. Spoiler Patch Notes: +MAP21: 4-3: Callisto Science Station added. +MAP25: 5-1: Oh, Heck! added. +New Sky Texture for Hell maps SKYCH_01 added. +WADINFO credits/attributions updated. ~MAPINFO/UMAPINFO/EMAPINFO adjusted to account for first map of hell episode becoming available. ~MAP20: Clippy's Water Switch moved to somewhere more visible and less obnoxious. PS: Is it Callisto or Calisto? I'm getting mixed results but at least its easy to add/subtract a letter from the level name patch. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

nobleflame Posted August 8, 2022 I can't wait for this to be finished. Reckon it'll be up there with Ancient Aliens, Eviternity, BTSX, etc... 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Chookum Posted October 29, 2022 Spoiler Save your forks! There's some more chicken! New Map! MAP22: 4-4: Io Refuelling Array! Blast your way through this abandoned refuelling station, and seize explosive victory! Compared to the previous level, this one demands more brute force than tightly wound brains. New DeHacked! Some new features: Kamikaze now fully implemented with 8 chase frames, in line with the original Decorate implementation. Now they're a threat! Fast Chainsaw has been made FASTER with a 2-3 tic attack pattern! It even idles faster too, like its trying to leap out of your hands! In addition! Multiple fixes and changes to existing maps, mostly automap ceiling line cleanup, and death exit changes. MAP24 (4-6: Regolith) in particular has received a new section before the gate opens. MAP01's intro has been flattened to make the rate of movement better between ports. Currently, I'm getting MAP32 blocked out, MAP33 is somehow 65% done by my estimates, and MAP31 needs one more section to be complete and probably be what needs completion next. MAP23 will then be planned and blocked out. 8 Quote Share this post Link to post

Chookum Posted December 29, 2022 The sleigh might've came late, but there's always chicken in the leftovers of any good Christmas celebration! For Headless Chicken's Christmas and nearly two years of development time (as of 16/12/20) I have not one, but two maps for Christmas, the Bonus Block of The Funny Maps! MAP31: A-1: Barfly Spoiler MAP32: A-2: (Kill) The Mall Spoiler Hang on though, what's this? More? That's right! There's THREE maps for Christmas! It's a Chickenmas miracle! This one's a toughy though! MAP33: A-X: Pleasure Dome Spoiler The usual download link has been updated, as usual! 4 Quote Share this post Link to post

JollyRoger Posted January 31, 2023 Found this weird effect in MAP10: Was this intended or is there a bug? There are also some minor slime trails, but they're barely visible. Otherwise a lovely set of levels - looks a bit like a cross between Auger;Zenith and Ancient Aliens, but combat feels more like an easier version of Haste. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Yes, that's something which occurs on Software mode. It is a glitch, but I like to think of it as a depth indicator for the water levels. Also I fixed a glitch with the ANIMATED. Had some values the wrong way around which prevented opening the wad on PRBoom+/DSDA Doom. Whoops! 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
