Dreamskull Posted June 15, 2023 I want to ask the community what their favorite wad is. No holds barred, youre in love with it, but which one? Ill allow JUST ONE runner up in case theres a toss up and you cant decide. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
WhateverComic07 Posted June 15, 2023 Well I'll go. Rush. Played it through recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. My runner up is Scythe. Also you should probably give your own favorite as well 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Dreamskull Posted June 15, 2023 (edited) Its a really hard question, which is why I made the thread. Hopefully you guys can help me make up my mind. Ill get back to you later down the line. xScavengerWolfx Posted June 15, 2023 If we're going by like old mappers of the yester years, i have to say Scythe 2 for a runner up i would have to go with Snaxalotl's Stickeny Installation 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Lucius Wooding Posted June 15, 2023 5 minutes ago, dasho said: The last one is the best because it has somebody in 2015 complaining about these threads too. Yeah but if I had to pick my favorite "Favorite WAD Thread" of all time, it'd be this one. Spoiler I guess I'd have to pick Valiant as my favorite and Sunlust as runner up. Scythe 1 also deserves some love but it's not quite on the same tier. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Burgish Posted June 15, 2023 Walpurgis has a special place in my heart, it's the one that got me into Doom modding. If we're talking about mapsets though, probably Sunder, which to me is just perfect* in terms of difficulty and variety in a slaughterfest. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Redneckerz Posted June 15, 2023 Considering OP's recent troubles with reading, i am going to suggest this and kindly lay down the advice to read each and every entry presented. 1 hour ago, Dreamskull said: Its a really hard question, which is why I made the thread. It isn't a hard question because the real answer is: It is subjective. Sure there will be some WAD's that stick out, but everyone has different favorites. And if you want something more condensed, just use the Cacowards as a rule of thumb, which i suppose you knew already. 1 hour ago, Dreamskull said: Hopefully you guys can help me make up my mind. Ill get back to you later down the line. Why do we have to decided for you which WADS are people's favorite, based on what others liked? Why can't you test drive some WADS from the Cacowards and decide for yourself what your favorite is? 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

smeghammer Posted June 15, 2023 Breach as top. r/u Vrack2, without a doubt. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
openroadracer Posted June 15, 2023 Ancient Aliens, hands down, for its combination of unique aesthetics, fast-paced combat, interesting locations, and the sheer broad variety of the maps from full-on slaughter to more atmospheric and explorative. It has a little bit of everything. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Logamuffin Posted June 16, 2023 Though I haven’t gotten through as many wads as I’d like to properly answer this question, I’m gonna go with Dark Universe, which has one of the best atmospheres and aesthetics of any modern Doom wad I’ve seen, despite being short. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Geqoph Posted June 16, 2023 Does Batman Doom count? Because it's pretty much the wad of my childhood and I've replayed it a couple of times now. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Never played it myself, but I definitely watched a few videos on batman doom when I was younger because it looked so ridiculous (in a good way) 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Fernito Posted June 16, 2023 Tough choice, but if I had to pick only one, it would be NEIS <3 Although I have to say that MyHouse was also an incredible experience, it left a very big impression on me for quite some time and made me question my worth as a mapper haha :') 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
