Is there is a way to make replacing sprites a bit faster/less tedious?

Question

So when I want to edit how something looks, I put all sprites into one file in GIMP and then modify them:

Tedium starts when I finish work and start replacing sprites - I open up each original image, paste new sprite onto it and export it to file. Doesn't sound like much but with 70+ files it often takes over an hour for me to do that.

Does anyone know about any image manipulation program or plugin that spits out multiple files out of various parts of a single image? One project that I have in mind would probably require me to make a lot of sprites, and every part of making many sprites is manageable for me aside from that hour-long replacing process.

There's an old tool called Spricer, that supposedly slices sprites out of an sprite sheet.

Also you can apparently use tools in GIMP to Slice an image. (source)

I haven't tried any of these methods/tools myself, so I can't vouch for how well they work though.

Thank you very much! I'll check these out tomorrow.

Edit: few bugs aside that spricer program is godsend, I would have done 3x more things if I had it from the start, I wish I could buy author a beer.
