Razza Posted January 11 (edited) Yet another UAC outpost of vague importance has been overrun! But this won't be your every day killing spree, those crafty demons have a new trick up their sleeve. Some of them seem to have the ability to ambush you from seemingly solid walls! Keep your wits about you as you try to overcome this bloodbath, you'll need to fight like hell to get out of here alive. "Coming Out Of The Goddamn Walls" is a hectic, slaughtery single map with a silly gimmick. At 1300+ monsters this is my most populated level I've made by far, however this isn't a map that's for hardcore players only. I've tried to make it fairly accessible on the lower difficulties, so if you don't feel confident with slaughter maps I'd encourage you to try it on ITYTD/HNTR. It's still fairly dense, however there's plenty of resources to recover with. IMPORTANT STUFF: Requires a Boom compatible sourceport (tested on PRBoom+, DSDA-Doom, and (G)Zdoom) Runs on Doom 2 No jumping/crouching plz :) DOWNLOAD : https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/Ports/s-u/thedamnwalls Textures are provided by the legendary Ukiro (Ola Björling) and their OTEX texture pack. Finally, a big thanks to @TheV1perK1ller for taking the time to test out and give feedback for this map! And another huge thanks to @Proxy-MIDI for creating an original song for this map, it's a lively bop that'll energize you through the slaughter! TheV1perK1ller Posted January 12 It's great to see this complete, and I was more than happy to be a playtester. Congrats! 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Maribo Posted January 12 Lots of fun slaughter setups in this map, but I think the finale takes the cake as the best part, because I spent the entire fight thinking "what the fuck? is this intended? it has to be, this is awesome". Great map, here is a -dsdademo (plays back on v.0.27.5) where I feel like I missed an integral plasma weapon somewhere along the way, but still managed to get through: tdw-maribo.zip 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
LVENdead Posted January 21 Very fun slaughter combat with I'd say fairly accessible gameplay. I caught myself in a few dicey situations here and there but I generally always had a chance to find some space to squeeze my way out of trouble or grab some much needed health or ammo lying around somewhere else. It's a 45 minute map that feels punchy most of the way through and I think folks will enjoy this one if they're not intimidated by the monster count :) 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Razza Posted January 28 The map now has a home on the idgames archive, and the download link now points to there! Feels great to finally have a project of my own up there. Now hopefully I'll have the time and energy to work on a project that's more than one map :) 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
