Hi! I vaguely remember that there was a WAD posted, most probably here on Doomworld, that is a demonstration of many mapping techniques. Something along the lines of a mapping showcase/tutorial/guide/museum. Cannot find it.

Are you talking about Doomish Den of Design?

I'm looking for a doom 2 pwad which I played a few years ago. I remember one map: There's a section with a large central building possibly surrounded by a moat. Around this is an open outside area. This has an outer wall, embedded in which are four/six 'chapels', each with cross-shaped windows. You must clear each chapel sequentially, each one having more difficult enemies than the last. After all chapels are cleared, you can access the central building. If I recall correctly, this contains at least one cyberdemon and some Nazis.

As far as I remember, the map had vanilla enemies, was maybe desert themed, and I don't think it was subterranean.

ChatGPT suggested Plutonia 2 map28, but this wasn't it. I have tried search my old SSD where I kept games but it is corrupted.

Looking for a map with basic layout being something like this hOdVDgk.png

I remember that map distinctly.

It was from a fairly well detailed WAD released some time after 2012-2014

It was Boom/limit-removing, no ZDoom stuff I think. It used quite a bit of really cool midtexture and texture trickery to achieve some nice effects. The map I remember was fairly far into the wad, maybe second half. Definitely not a single level wad.

The buildings are enterable and exploreable, in the front of the buildings there was area filled with water I think, and from the water there were rising platforms with bridges connecting them, some empty, some with radio towers (radio towers were made with some midtexture tricks and looked really nice and neat, not just a sprite),

behind the building there was power/electric station that had mostly brown/yellow buildings, and there was ambush when you activate it.
Maybe there were some more bridges

The skybox was Dawn/Dusk with blue sky and sun setting/rising beyond the radio tower area.

What it is not:
Bloody Steel
Comatose

I clearly remember this map, and I searched all over my wad collection and can't find it.

I don't remember that much from this PWAD. It's a WAD with 1 or 2 maps from the 90s.

Once you can find yourself in a very small and fully green hall with two baron icons on lateral walls and I believe a Baphomet icon with couple of stairs near the further wall that you face when you enter the hall.

I remembered its name as autosecure.wad, but apparently that's not how the WAD is called in reality. However the name could be something similar to this.

Luckily, I kept this screenshot from there:

That sounds a lot like Scythe2.wad Map20

Yeah I was thinking that one as well, the level contains some evil marines which could get replaced by nazis if you play with mods I guess.

Trying to remember a wad that was extremely popular on ZDaemon 10+ years ago alongside Invasion UAC and the like, possibly it was more than one wad that I'm conflating memories of but I remember there was a train level with a spider mastermind in one of the compartments and you have to jump between different trains, a level like immediately after in a night time city with the star light zone music from sonic 1 and a few springs around too

Possibly remembering a different wad at this point but I also remember there being maps with giant black imps and a gargantuan amount of enemies

Kurt Kesler's page on Doomwiki mentions and links to an archived version of K-maps, "Kesler's collected solo works". The same link is also on the KZDoom page on the wiki and mentions containing a KZDoom8 (!!). Unfortunately the archived links now lead to a dead link and no file. Does anyone still have that K-maps download? Thanks in advance!

edit: I swear I searched the thread before making the post, but I didn't think of trying other keywords. Thank you @Mad Butcher, you're a true archive.

Is there a Doom WAD that has all of the levels of The Shores of Hell that are modified to look as if Deimos wasn't corrupted by Hell? (which would probably exclude modifications of E2M8 & E2M9)

What I mean is that maps of episode 2 in this WAD would not have what the episode's Doom Wiki page describes here:

Quote

Progressing into the base facility by facility, he finds that it too has been overrun by the forces of Hell, but also that its environment has become twisted and corrupted - wood, marble and stone inexplicably replace electronics, flesh hangs in sheets over walls, lava and blood flow and gather in pools, thorny vines overgrow large portions of the base, and various demonic artifacts and paraphernalia litter the corridors.

Blue Paladin (Eric W. Buck), a WAD author and reviewer for doomwadstation, used to have a homepage with a bunch of wads

https://web.archive.org/web/20050209172215/http://eric.doomwadstation.com/doomtwo.html

However, they were never uploaded to idgames, and I have been unable to find them... Any help?

You may be thinking about Doom Barracks Zone. As for the giant black imps and gargantuan amount of monsters, you may be remembering Invasion UAC, or maybe one of the [LA]Worlds which I can't find at the moment.

absolute legend, I did look at invasion UAC but it doesn't appear to have the giant black imps or the maps I remember them being on

Hi, back here again. I distinctly remember playing this one gore mod or something where the gibs were done as voxel chunks. I'm looking for it because I wanna play it with Cheello's voxel mod.

Hello, i need help finding a megawad.
The one thing i remember about it is one of the later levels, being this massive alien base, metallic gray and black in color, with huge windows into space, huge pillars and platforms with floating bridges between them, and holographic images of some hooded figure here and there.
I am pretty sure it was also in lexicon, but i can not be bothered to look through the whole thing tbqh.

Paul Fleschute released the original Vengeance back in 1999, a complete megawad replacement for Ultimate Doom. There is mention in the txt of that E4 has "new music", and instructions to run venge4.bat to get it to work. There are 2 batch files supplied; vengnce.bat runs Boom and loads just vengnce.wad; the aforementioned venge4.bat does the same but also loads a venge4ms.wad. Except that venge4ms.wad isn't provided in the idgames download, googling it brings up nothing, and in fact I cannot find any reference anywhere that it ever existed. There are a few MUS lumps inside the main vengnce.wad but they don't correspond to E4 music, so it doesn't look like they used to be the content of a separate wad. I'm wondering if venge4ms.wad used to be included and something happened, and I'm hoping perhaps @Kor can shed some light on this mystery.

Yeah I messed up on that one, sorry. I had created venge4ms.wad with music to fit episode 4's gothic theme. I did this because of how the music in episode 4 works. But I messed up and didn't include it in the zip. I should have done another upload to the archives but I didn't think it was a big deal and I didn't want to spend a couple hours uploading the zip again (it was the days of dial-up). Then I just kinda forgot about it. Pretty sure I don't have the file anymore.
