[SLADE 3] everything is grey. help.

I trying to import a custom skin to my wad using SLADE 3 and everything is grey. can anyone explain?

The same happened to me just last week. I think it's just the display bugging out... when I saved the textures to the WAD and closed/reopened SLADE, then they looked normal.

See the "Base Resource" and "Palette" boxes at the top right? Either set "Base Resource" to "Doom2.wad", or set "Palette" to "Doom". Then paletted graphics in wads that don't contain their own palette will display like with the Doom palette.
