  1. Port? Screens? Lenght? This is a pretty "light" (if any) presentation and will not encourage people to download/play your wad. Also, posting a link like that and essentially saying "please click" is quite fishy if you ask me.
  2. The general rule of thumb regarding midi usage i would say, is: If uncertain, ask the person in question first That even goes if they have given prior permission to someone else. Because you can never know the full context behind it or, if it was just a special permission or what not. Some artists (like ad_79 for example) have released their midis as a pack for people to download and use so, these are ok (do still credit though) to use. But usually, from what I've seen, as long as you credit and ask, it's generally ok. Do respect the person's choice if they say no though, that goes without saying.
  3. Guys, this is becoming a little unhealthy. Can we go back to talking about the project in question?
  4. Nice. Well, ill be playing it when i come.back from weekend tomorrow
  5. Is the name a reference to a song of the same name by hiroyuki sawano? (For attack on titan) Looks hella cool btw
  6. It's being worked on afaik, just be patient. Jesus
  7. Can we like stop? I think most of what had to be said has been said already here. There really is no need to continue any further. At this point, it's just not worth it. They have shown that they do not learn eitherway so, what else is there to continue on about?
  8. Now now now, let's not all dogpile. I think they got the message (I hope).
  9. No worries. At the same time, i knew what you were saying, i dont hold you accountable for anything (not that there is anything to be held accountable for). You're cool, don't worry about it :)
  10. "liked Map04 as a breather level before the punishment of Maps 05 and 06. It owes an awful lot to The Room Taking Shape from BTSX E1, and it probably should have used different music so it could read more as a homage and have more of a separate identity from its original. It's a lot of fun, though. It was nice to get close to the end of a level! But today was a laundry day, I had to change loads, and a half-hour is about as much as I like to spend recording an FDA anyway, so I chumped out before I could get the clear." Nah, not changing the music since it's part of the joke and also serves as a a joke to the wad's name (the music is called "drilling by night" in a wad called "daylight district"). Also, yes, i own up to the fact that this is a direct reference to the map in question (in the map blurb, i call it "bootleg the room taking shape" but that was a silly joke). But, i also think it has an identity of its own. The homage is more in the way it opens up etc...but that's about it. I did not obviously copy the layout heh.
  11. I'm guessing you mean the soulsphere area? If so, there is defo a way to get there. EDIT: Unless maybe, you meant map 3 which, indeed has a secret area with some monsters in it.
  12. Haha thanks. Yeah, "the place building itself" is pretty much tesco value "the room taking shape" lmao
  13. The addons are completely free of charge.
  14. Thank you very much for all the playthroughs and feedback :D Here is V2 Sunshine V2 (now in a zip containing the single version and the DM version) Nothing much has changed aside from adding some polish here and there. Map now has its correct name on the automap (and on the intermission screen). Also, here is a UV-MAX of the map (for those interested):
  15. Say Hello to sunshine - A Limit-removing Doom 1 map (yes yes) Description: This map was initially done for a project (sort of) started in correlation with the anouncement of the impending release of john romero's biography in france. I can't really go into too much details but, basically, we were asked to make a map. Due to unforseen consequences though, I could not make it in time for the deadline so, I decided to polish this map up a little and release it regardless (with permission by the project lead of course). Here is the blurb I had prepared: When I heard about this project, I was a little worried that I couldn't do anything for it. Mainly due to the limited roster of doom 1 and, my inexperience altogether with this Iwad. But, I decided to step aside all that and started drawing shapes. Lo and behold, it turned into this map. The water raising gimmick was something that came along with me fooling around with "floor raise by 24" which I had never used before and, that was pretty fun. I did decide to introduce the player to the gimmick as soon as the map is loaded so that they know exactly what to do. Hopefully it translates well. The general theme for this map is more on the quake side of things, mixed with some sand areas. One of my fellow mappers told me that it kinda had an egyptian feel to it which is, surprising, but, you know what, I'll go with it :D There were so many times where my mind was like "oh, an archvile would be nice here" or "oh, a bunch of revs and a few mancubi would be cool here" and then, I remembered this was doom 1 haha. It's pretty easy, slaughter-light and should be a pushover for most players. Don't let your guard down on the final fight though, that one can get explosive really quickcly :D This layout, imo, works pretty well for DM too actually. A second version of the map (for DM) was actually made and, I will share it here too. (there are no player 1 starts) Play info: Iwad: Doom Slot: E4M1 Music: "Undefined" by AD_79 Play time: Should take you no longer than 10 minutes I think. It's not very long Skill settings: Yes Overall difficulty: Pretty easy tbh. Misc info: Build time: About a week, on and off Editors used: Ultimate doom builder, slade Tested with: Dsda doom, gzdoom, etc... Known bugs: None that I can think of The sky was edited by @franckFRAG Ask him if you wanna use it elsewhere, it's not really my place to decide haha. I don't really see where you could use it though Links: Single player version: Version 1 DM Version (no player 1 start): DM Version Sunshine V2 Do note that the DM version was untested and just has a few weapons/items slashed around. It's the same map but, everything is opened up already (the water is also raised) and most of the railings were taken out to ease the flow. Have fun !
  16. Hmm, let's see: - Finish and release mapset (that was a resolution for last year but, stuff happened) - Finish my contributions for other projects (one of which is done with 2 maps submitted actually, the last one today) - Play more stuff? Anyhow, let's see how the year turns out :D
  17. Congrats to all the people :D Very good write-up this year
  18. Apparently, this is something I do alot (which is true). If I have a staircase and If I can do it, I'll make a "fade to black sector" to spruce up the stairs: I dunno why. It's just something I like doing because, my mind thinks a plain staircase just doesn't look appealing to me anymore heh I do it sparingly in vanilla too if i can get away with it. It's grossly simplified though (like 3 to 4 max splits of gradients).
  19. You see, The "big friendly giant" should not be relegated to "other" status. It is highly important.
