Does anyone want some, heh.
Hot as I expected and nice to taste the actual source of the heat instead of salsa or hot sauce with the ingredient.- Show previous comments 16 more

I know my limits and this ain't for me. Usually eat a couple serrano peppers every days though. But those scales aren't that useful, because different crops can vary radically in the amount of "heat" they pack. I've had jalapenos that are about as bland as bell peppers, and others that have me crying like a baby.
-
For me, anything hotter than bell peppers are more heat than flavor, and thus completely pointless to me. I do, however, have plenty of respect for the Bachelor's Secret Weapon (aka hot sauce). I can't count how many bachelor dinners have been transformed from "four pounds of tasteless mush" to "fine Mexican cuisine" with the skillful addition of hot sauce and soft tortillas.

All goofiness side, I got this game on Steam from a friend as a gift and just as I was gonna dive in, I found out I could not change the movement controls to arrows from WASD. I mean, really...not everyone uses WASD as movement!
I am disappoint, Avalanche Studios.- Show previous comments 11 more

What's with the assumption that no WASD = arrows? I use ESDF because I get access to more keys. I find it annoying when there's no way to change weapon key bindings.
I use ESDF as well. Mostly because you can reach more keys, partly because WASD is so mainstream.
I can live with WASD. What bugs me more is when a game has an absurdly long list of controls that I have to memorize before I can start playing. I once read an article where someone, as a thought experiment, figured out how a modern shooter (I forget which one) could theoretically be played with a one-button Atari joystick. It is possible to simplify things.

So yea, I've been playing it tonight and it's pretty creepy, not relying on the cliche jump scares but tense psychological stuff and generally unnerving stuff.
What do you guys think about it, and please no spoilers because I'm early on in the game! -

And no, not about his music but the hot sauces under his name. I purchased this and two other Blair sauces from Le Gourmet Chef and I tried the above by itself....wow that is pretty hot and goes pretty nicely on food that I had it with.
I give it 7.5 out of 10 Rape faces in terms of heat/spice.
The other two products (and a few other non hot sauce items) I purchased was Blair's Original Death Sauce and Blair's Pure Death Sauce, but I have not tried them yet. I have the Sudden Death Sauce and that's pretty fucking hot in comparison even tho I did see this but held out on buying that for the time being.
I will try that some day, that I can make a promise on.
So guys, what sauces do you like and why that has not been brought up in my previous blog?- Show previous comments 1 more

Also, speaking of Blair's products, I own one of these.

I went to the Tanger Outlet over here to one of the stores that had hot sauces my brother got for me on my birthday back in April. While there this afternoon, I picked up this and two other bottles.
For those who don't know, Naga Jolokia, also known as the ghost pepper/chili is one of the hottest peppers in the world which taps in around 1 million Scovilles, with Jalapenos being a mere 2,500 to 8,000 on the scale.
I will be trying this on dinner tonight and to sear my taste buds and might report back on my experience.- Show previous comments 33 more

Nope.Incorrect.

Hey folks, I aged one increment today to the total age of 28.
Wee. -
I won't be doing that silly "inb4" thing anymore following this announcement.

This afternoon around 1:15pm while returning from the gym, a lone guy in a car pulled up to the corner just around from my street asked me if I wanted to buy some pot. I respectfully declined and he drove off.
As much as I don't care about the use of pot or the sale of it, I would be more concerned if he was offering me something heavier such as cocaine, meth or heroin.
Has anyone else been approached by dealers regardless if they were on foot or in a vehicle?- Show previous comments 30 more

I didn't at the time. Anyway, the two go together extremely badly. Alcohol and chess are fine (maybe only knock off about 200 Elo points for being pretty much blind drunk - for blitz chess at least*), whereas cannabis more or less scrambles the chess thought process.

Let's point out some of the good and bad things that have happened this year...
GOOD:
-Obama elected as first (or second) mixed race president in US history
-My 27th birthday
-Got interested in airsoft
-Average Christmas
-The Healthcare thing
-Going to a New Year's meet this afternoon and staying over the night!
-New desktop!
-Interest in Dead Space, Team Fortress 2 and Torchlight
-Lots of interesting new music purchased and "acquired"
BAD:
-Dad's job loss
-Feeling like crap shortly after the above
-Two cats dying in December
-We're still still stuck in Iraq and Afghanistan
-Country is 12 TRILLION in debt
-Too much bullshit/strife in government between Dems and GOP
See you all in 2010!- Show previous comments 1 more

GOOD
-Got a new girlfriend, after about 5 years of short-lived, bullshit "relationships" (and the one before that 5 year period was pretty shitty too).
-Graduated. 2:2 but considering i was planning on dropping out "tomorrow" through the entire course right up until the day before the last exam (seriously), it's amazing i finished at all.
-Download Festival 2009, awesome. Got a cold on the Sunday and missed a ton of classic bands, though. But it was still incredible.
-First proper foreign holiday, to Japan no less (as that's where the girlfriend is from - free hotel!)
-Finally started learning a foreign language in earnest after making new years resolutions to do so for, liek, ever. (I did start learning it in July though)
-Got a job pretty quickly after graduation, i was expecting it to take ages.
-The job is pretty good too. The pay isn't amazing but i work with great people and i'm not over worked.
-Got some brilliant bargains in my other hobby (collecting antique story-papers). I got volume 1 of Chums from 1892-3, in amazing condition, for about £25!
-Top Gear was chosen as the best TV show of the decade. TOP GEAR! brilliant!
-Proper snow! It's fairly rare around my way and usually melts away within a day.
BAD
-Getting a girlfriend did screw up another promising relationship, you win some, you lose some.
-My main hobby (making comics) was terribly neglected. I've done maybe 4 pages in the whole year. I wasn't even able to go to the one convention i like to regularly go to.
-Wanted to go to another, small metal festival called Damnation, however it was late in the year, sneaked up on me, and sold out.
-Learning another language is really hard like.
-Spent £150 on a 3D game-making engine called Unity, they then released the next version - for £0! And i must have just been over the refund cut-off date. Not really learned how to use the engine or make models at all either, it's just sat on my hard drive.
-No decent storms
-Wasn't able to get the Mini out over the summer, well i had just finished uni and had no job. I miss driving it.
-Word 97 finally broke, leaving me without an HTML editor, i tried one called Pagebreeze but it's monumentally wank. -
Good:
Got engaged
Made lots of money on the stock market
Enjoyed some good travelling
My company's sales good despite financial crisis
New edition of my most successful book published
No international financial apocalypse, and things slowly on the mend (it seems...)
Bad:
[this space left intentionally blank]
Oh hang on, yes, there is something, and it's quite a biggie:
Lack of progress on tackling climate change
Hmm, dunno, maybe this would work better if separated into "personal" and "global" lists.
deathbringer said:-Word 97 finally broke
Yikes, now that is a catastrophe. After that version it has been sharply downhill. I have two later versions, and have uninstalled both in disgust!

Yea, I found him in a sleeping position on the top end of a couch in the living room. Don't know how but it may have to do with his age or something (11 or 12 years old).
Rest in peace, one eyed one

I'm just having mapper's block atop being lazy on my E2M6 map, that is why it is taking so long to finish it.

Either you are suffering from Parkinson's or your computer has awful grounding.
Grounding shouldn't be an issue if the drive's powered by a double-insulated plugpack. A couple of years ago I had a wireless router and it's plugpack die in what could best be described as a "murder-suicide pact" - the plugpack failed and killed the router while doing so.

Yea, I have FIOS now. Bye bye Optimum Online.

Expect Maledictio to be finished by the end of this week or at latest the start of next week.
Following that, I'll get right to work on the secret level which I already got a good idea in my head on how it is going to look. -
A list of my recent maps created in the past two months:
These are all for Doom and are for the second episode. I will finish up the 9 maps, tweak them and toss them all into one big WAD file.

Maledictio - Under construction! -
House is being paid off by my grandmother (aprox 90-100k USD), my father will be getting unemployment for a year and he will attempt to get a job at the USPS.
-
I might vanish next month if my father does not find another job to pay the mortgage in August..if that happens, I might not show up for a while and the E2 full replacement (up to E2M5 right now) will be on hiatus if that occurs.

Last entry: 2004
Holy shit, it's been ages ever since my self-imposed exile for doing stupid crap back in 2004. All my behavior back then is pretty much gone.
Still on a laptop since July 2008 since the desktop is starting to fuck up, notibly the motherboard being from 2003 and being AGP...a significant bottleneck compared to most of the other hardware it used. At least I can play Doom on this whenever dad's friend comes around with the new desktop box, which should be on or around my 27th birthday (April 25th).
Also while trying to sleep last night, I was having some mapping ideas..one being a sequel to my "Unnamed Base" map or a new map dubbed "Computer Chaos" since I am awesome at creating techbase and episode 1 style maps. -
Well, I just heard this morning my brother got beat up by his ex-gf/best friend's older brother, who serves in the military. The worst thing of it all, as it was unprovoked! I'm really angry right now at Stephanie's (Thomas's ex-gf and friend) older brother.
I mean what the fuck, that's so wrong to hurt someone on their birthday, I would have tried to defend him if I were there with him when it happened last night.
Tom's AIM away message is: "A sucker punch is always the best way to end your birthday. Fuck you CJ."- Show previous comments 9 more

The problem is that the brother can get sent to jail for doing that. Anyone in the US with military training is thought of as trained to kill, so beating someone up is legally akin to "assault with a deadly weapon". If the birthday boy is so inclined, he can get a hefty sum... of course, that also means losing a friendship-- but if she's also his ex, I'm pretty sure he's explored all areas of that relationship.
