I like TNT til about Map12, and then I fall off a bit. I like Plutonia the entire way through, though. Still, both are very good megaWADs.

This is really interesting to me - I thought Sigil was the first SP mapset to do that, but I guess I was waaaaay off on that. Will be checking this out tonight, thanks! :) Never ever heard of these either - could be some fun oldschool stuff! Thanks as always!!

I actually don't mind Doom's platforming, provided the WAD author doesn't try to pull off anything too cryptic/obnoxious...

Hello everyone! I've at this point played many of the 'classic' or 'well-known' deathmatch WADs out there - stuff like: the GreenWars, the DWANGOs, idmap01!, Classix, exec, brit, danzig, etc. I'm now on the lookout for the more obscure WADs out there. I found two great deathmatch WADs via the 'random file' option on /idgames today: After Life - A very small, (some might say cramped) hell-based duel WAD. One of the smallest maps that I've actually seen work well. Waaaay too small to be viable for fair FFA imo, but is very fun in duel. https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/deathmatch/a-c/afterlfe Dr. Death's Water Fun - A medium sized level with lots of peculiar architecture. Of solid quality for 1995. Unfortunately, it seems like some of the author's other maps are missing from the archive. Oh well, what's here is a lot of fun for duel or 3-4 player FFA. Very odd looking, but memorable. https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/deathmatch/d-f/drdwater What are some of the obscure / unknown deathmatch WADs you've played / know about? Link / post them in the comments below, I'd love to know! :) [I know this could have probably gone in the Multiplayer subforum, but as this is specifically about WADs, I decided to post it here.]

System of a Down and Mushroomhead for me. Edit: Although I almost exclusively listen to electronic music now. :P

I'd say it counts - barely, but it counts! :) Thanks for the recommend - I've never heard of that one.

Digging the Gengar plush. Got one of my own, but I haven't been able to find it in forever. Mine's smaller and darker purple. I think its quite old. So these are a recommend?

Had a Monster energy drink and a couple yogourts. Not the best combination, I might add.

Just finally got around to watching 'The Raid 2'. Great Indonesian action film. Has some amazing choreography, including a stellar fight scene in the back seat of a car. The entire movie, (save like 15 minutes) is an action scene. If that's your cup of tea, I'd advise you check it out.

¿What's your favorite Star Wars Jedi? (Original-Prequel)
Arrowhead replied to Kurogachii's topic in Everything Else
Luke all the way, no contest. Simple choice. -
Please. True connoisseurs use only Plutonium 239-242 screens.

I don't usually use sourceports from the Chocolate family, but I might give this one a whirl. The level select option is especially intriguing.

What's that? I've only just now heard of it.

What was your all time favorite ID software games of all time
Arrowhead replied to AnthonyTankHD's topic in Doom General
1. Doom 1 + Doom 2 + Final Doom 2. Quake 3 Arena 3. Quake 2 4. Quake -
I'm interested in this. Was not aware that there was an updated version called "Doom95Portable". If you can find a way to strip the infringing content, I think that'd be pretty sweet. Unfortunately, I only (barely) know the ins and outs of a WAD, let alone something more complex like this. Would definitely like to see this in a (proper) downloadable state, as Doom95 was my first introduction to Doom.

I use mainly GZDOOM for single-player WADs. I use LZDOOM for its local splitscreen functionality - and to play co-op, and deathmatch w/ my brother. I use mainly Zandronum to play multiplayer WADs. I regularly use Zandronum and GZDOOM daily - I like them because they can both play nearly any WAD / mod you throw at them. Very few WADs won't work in GZDOOM / Zandro. The like cannot be said about PrBoom+, Chocolate, and stuff like DSDA-Doom - not that I have any major problem w/ these ports, I've used them, just not very much because of this reason. But yeah, that's what I use. :)

The PS2 port of the little known RTS Conflict Zone is pretty terrible. It was the first bad port experience I had. I remember being 8 years old and immensely disappointed.

A 1997 Reaper figure of a Mancubus. A Pelle Lindbergh rookie card. A PS1 sweatshirt. A Doom level CD called D!Match. A haircut. A Quebec Maple bottle of Coke. A Durgod K320 mechanical keyboard. An 1823 copy of Hume's Essays. A copy of The Raid 2 on Blu-Ray. A 4-pack of sugarfree Monster. I need to stay away from eBay.

TDBots: The fast-performing bots v26 (3/4/2020)
Arrowhead replied to -TDRR-'s topic in WAD Releases & Development
I know this thread has been dormant for over a year now, but I just wanted to express my thanks for making these bots! It has been great being able to test my deathmatch maps in FFA conditions. I like being able to load up 7 bots at once for an 8 player game. Also, this works super well w/ LZDOOM's local splitscreen mode - its a lot of fun to team up w/ my brother and go after the bots! Just wanted to say thanks, as I just recently stumbled across this - I didn't expect there to be such a great multiplayer mod for the GZDOOM/LZDOOM ports. Thanks for not making this just Zandronum only! I know the author isn't active anymore, but I wanted to give this thread a bump anyway - I highly recommend other users try it out, the intelligence of these bots are waaaaay above ZCajun. -
Loved it in Doom 64, I haven't seen / or played Doom 2016/Eternal yet, so can't comment on the one in Eternal. Really need a new computer...

I keep having a recurring dream about these three simple orthogonal rooms all linked together. It would be a terrible 1994 map if put to practice. Probably spending too much time mapping. :P

Looks great, keep up the good work! I really like the geometry in this WAD. Hopefully nobody tries to bully you off the forum for posting a 'controversial' mod...

This. I had a lot of fun w/ this mode. Been playing a lot of Trackmania United Forever. Love time trial type games.
