  2. I'm in the process of making some kind of 'molten world' deathmatch level for my upcoming Ancient Aliens themed map pack. I'm working on some set-pieces right now. Does this look awful? Decent? Somewhere in between? Does it look believable at all? Any suggestions to improve it? It's Zandronum:UDMF. Here's the GIF in question: Ignore the animation 'skip' at the end of the GIF - I still haven't found out how to loop a GIF properly yet, haha. That little skip isn't present in the actual WAD. I'd appreciate if someone could let me know what they think! Thanks! :D
  3. Seeing molten craters, slag pits, magma, beige+brown+orange+red+some black - 'natural' geometry, volcanic fields, heat, heat, heat!!

     

    Gotta get it into the editor before it floats outta my ears!!

     

    Might crash out later, but right now I gotta get this outta my head.

     

    Not trying to be dramatic, it'll drive me crazy otherwise.

  5. I like the silver 'artificial' textures juxtaposed w/ the hellish stuff - I've always digged that 'organic machinery' vibe, TBH. Congrats on nearly completing your megaWAD! Exciting stuff! :D
  6. Antiquated Extraterrestrials: MAP05: Fray - Redux: Moving at a very brisk pace! This is an aesthetic re-make of my original MAP25 from Frantik DM 1! I re-drew everything bv hand, didn't copy a single sector, but it is still very much the original layout - I just took the time to clean up some slight gameplay issues, thicken certain geometry, shrink other geometry - and add a ton of detail. The original map was a hellish themed techbase thing - but I went w/ orange+teal this time through. The original level only had a total of 514 linedefs! This one has 3,203 linedefs - to give you an idea of the amount of detail that was added. NEW VERSION: ORIGINAL LEVEL: So yeah, quite an improvement, and worth putting in my newest pack, I think! :D
  7. Just finished my aesthetic re-make of MAP25 (Fray) of Frantik DM 1!

     

    I think it looks much better than b4, I went w/ an orange + teal look, as opposed to the heck-ish hell theme I went w/ originally in 2021.

     

    Gonna post some screenshots in the main thread any second now - and then it's onto MAP06!

     

    Tearing through this already! Gotta keep the momentum going!

  8. Keep us posted! I'm always looking for large versatile texture packs, w/ lots of themes! This sounds like it would fit the bill! I've been meaning to use some of those in a project, I just haven't got around to browsing through everything, and picking what I want yet. A cleaned-up consolidated pack would be very helpful, and might actually make sure those textures get the use they deserve! Good plan! EDIT: Your map looks nice, btw - very clean classic aesthetics. :D
  9. Making a real quick remake of my old level from Frantik DM, (MAP25) 'Fray'.

     

    Can't believe that map only used 514 linedefs!

     

    It's going to be very much the same, but 'modernized' and in UDMF instead of Boom. No-stop teleporters instead of standard teleporters, a couple 3D floors - but no brand new areas.

     

    I'll clean up some of the stuff I didn't like about it, but I'll keep the general gameplan - I think the basics are still solid, despite this map being nearly 3 years old now!

     

    Will be fun giving this a new coat of paint!

     

    Gonna put it in Antiquated Extraterrestrials, as MAP05!

  10. Antiquated Extraterrestrials: MAP04: Hazard Havoc: Decided to call my Ancient Aliens themed DM pack: 'Antiquated Extraterrestrials'. Bit of a goofy name, but it makes me laugh for some reason - so I'll likely stick w/ it! This pack is coming along well so far, I think! Onto MAP05! Maybe some orange or red will be nice. I'll have to see what happens. :D

Unnamed AA DM Pack: MAP02: Sandy Sanctuary: Unnamed AA DM Pack: MAP03: Galaxy Base: Finished a new map, (MAP02) + I've also added an older map that I've been meaning to release for a while now, (MAP03)! I'm 3 maps into this new AA DM project so far, I'm looking to make 12 or so levels, that means I'm already a quarter of the way through! I've got a lot more ideas for more layouts! Hoping to get this done quite quickly - this will be a fun project to work on while I wait for my TITLEPIC artist to make my titlescreen for 'Dogtag DM'! :D
  16. Just realized I can throw my much older unreleased Ancient Aliens themed map into this current project!

     

    It blends in quite well!!

    Once I finish texturing the 2nd map, (Sandy Sanctuary, the Egyptian-themed one) - I'll be onto MAP04 - which if I'm going to a total of 12 planned maps, means I've already completed a third of the mapping for this project (technically) in one day!

     

    Got a ton of ideas floating in my head still - so completing the rest of the maps shouldn't be a problem!

     

    I've been wanting to work thoroughly w/ AA for a long time!

     

    Glad to finally get to it! I'm excited!!

  20. I feel like whipping up something quick w/ the Ancient Aliens texture pack, seeing as I'm having trouble getting FoxTex to work right now.

     

    No idea what I'm doing yet, other than that this is going to be a deathmatch pack, or a single DM map, or something!

     

    I'll have to see what ends up happening!

  21. Unnamed FoxTex DM Pack: MAP01: Fragbase Omicron: Encountered a major issue w/ the textures rendering correctly in Zandronum, so these shots were taken using the newest GZ! Basically, it causes a significant portion of the textures to render completely black - hoping I can figure out what the issue is!

Okay, ran into a pretty big issue when using this pack w/ Zandronum: Here's what this map looks like in newest GZ: I thought this might have been the issue that Major Arlene mentioned earlier in this thread, but the textures in question appear to already be in 'PNG Truecolor' format. I even tried converting them again via Slade3, w/ no success. I've tried re-opening / reloading UDB, reloading resources, reloading GLDefs, loading Zandronum in both its software renderer, and in Open GL, even restarted my computer - but no luck! I loaded all the pk3s linked in the OP of this thread at once. I just find it weird that GZ would have no problem w/ this, but Zandro messes up - doesn't make any sense to me. I'm using newest Zandro, btw. Only newest GZ will show things correctly! I've tried to troubleshoot this myself, but am at a loss of what's going on here. If anyone who's had success using this in Zandronum could help me, it'd be greatly appreciated!! It'd be a shame to not be able to use this texture pack. :P EDIT: Gonna post some pics in the 'what are you working on' thread, using GZ for now...

  24. Thanks for giving this one a shot, @Krawa! Seems like forever ago I released it. Its already got a sequel, as well as a third installment coming soon! I hope it will be a fun time for you all, the pack says 3-4 players, but these are quite large levels, actually. Bigger on average than Frantik DM 2. I might be able to attend, I'll have to see how things go. :)
  25. Not to post again in this thread so soon, apologies, but I'm really liking this so far! Love that each individual texture 'design' comes in a consistent variety of the same different colors, and that this is the case for nearly everything in this texture pack. Really great stuff. I'm midway through texturing a level, when I complete it, I'll link some screenshots here. I know you may not keep working on this texture pack, but what's here is very versatile already. I'm gonna start w/ a 3 level pack - but that could balloon into something bigger, knowing how things usually go. Nice work! :D
