"Doom PS1-64" : A New Soundtrack for Doom 64 !
stinkfist replied to Proxy-MIDI's topic in Mods & Resources
Will this work in other ports that are not zdoom based? Or is it specifically for gzdoom/zandronum? -
what are classic doomers thoughts on doom 64 in 2024?
stinkfist replied to nathanB404's topic in Doom General
Doom64 was my first doom game on the actual n64. Back then I couldn’t read cause I was like 4 or 5. My dad told me it was Army of Darkness cause of it having a shotgun and chainsaw. I thought the enemies were deadites lol. Could never get past level 6 until I was in my teens and finished the game on the n64. I thought it was great some levels are a drag though. Every so often I’d bust out the n64 for a bit to play it. Happy to see it’s way more accessible. I also played the doomsday TC way back when. Now I have it on my switch and Xbox. As well as Brutal doom 64 mod. Also the D64afire mod which is neat to apply to classic wads like AV and such. -
Anyone know of any coop wads similar to dbzone? Deus vault 2 comes to mind. I remember using zdaemon a lot as a pre teen and a lot of coop wads on there were great but I can only remember dbzone. looking for coop specific wads that were kindof random. Any recommendations?

Thank you so much

does anyone have any idea what the song is in the beginning of this video? I swear I’ve heard it while playing other wads. If anyone has an idea let me know! Thanks!

Joined in 2010 (remember the days of ranked accounts by post count, and the glorious post hell) but lost that account so I made a new one in like 2018? 19? Idk. been here for a minute. Mostly just lurk around. Every so often I’ll post. Hello I like doom and other old games.

First doom was doom64, but I was like 5 and legitimately thought it was army of darkness cause of the chainsaw. But my first real play through from start to finish was Doom1 on gba

I recently saw a YouTube video demonstrating how snes dooms multiplayer was re implemented through Xband. But there’s a familiar midi playing at the start of the video, and I cannot for the life of me remember where it’s from. I know it’s in a couple wads. anyone know what midi this is/what wad I can find it in? I’ve searched for awhile but can’t find anything. Something tells me it’s from that wad where there’s a cyber demon on a bed and a berserk pack….might be mixing up memories though. ideas?? I’ve edited the link, not sure what was up with it, I was able to use it just fine, but could be the new iOS on my iPhone but idk. I’ll post it in the what’s that song thread, thank you all

I go in and out with doom. Some weeks that’s all I’m playing weather it be some sort of mega wad, or maybe I found some cool people on zandronum. Then there’s weeks or months where my attention is just elsewhere (rgj Xbox, hl-1 mods, or even the newer doom titles) there has been times a year will pass and I haven’t touched doom. But when I do, it scratches that itch like no other. I think it’s important to not force yourself to play just cause you like it. Same with level design, if you’re just not in the mood, put it down for now. When you force it, the feeling just isn’t the same

Okay sorry for my newbish-ness with this. so when I launch crispy doom, go to “add extra parameters”, type in “-mergedump” then add the AV wad to the “Add wads” spot on the launcher, and press start? cause I tried that and it gave me an -iwad.wad which I’m assuming is the merged doom wad? My computer looked like it gave an error though, but the message doesn’t say error or anything. I renamed that wad to DOOM2.WAD and tried to load it in legacy, and my Xbox just crashes. I dunno if I did something wrong or it’s just not going to work through crispy doom. still gonna attempt deutex

Wait so If I launch crispy doom and use that peramiter it will create a merged wad??

Thanks for the reply’s guys. after work today I’m going to attempt to use deutex in dos box and see if I can get anything going from there. as far as a console, I can’t see any options saying go to console, there’s no buttons that bring it down. Even if I plug in a keyboard the only button the it picks up is if I press the “Windows key” which brings up the Xbox 360 menu. in odamex, there is a console, but again my keyboard isn’t being picked up. what I have tried is throwing the AV.wad in the “Iwad” folder, then tried remaining Av.wad to DOOM2.wad. Which just crashed legacy after I attempted to run it. And I even renamed the wad that the xml looks for to AV.wad with still no luck. ive hunted around for an area to input commands (-filename.wad method) on the launcher, and with the files provided in the package, I’ve seen nothing. I’m thinking the only way to get this done really might be with deutex or something similar. just gotta wait till I get home :P

I tried that link, the download was fine but the program doesn’t want to work with my oc. I’ve tried a bunch of their versions and tried running them with comparability mode for windows 98/me with no luck. Is there anything more update to work with the later version of windows? i get error messages saying this won’t work on my pc and to contact the author of the program lol. that or a cmd dialogue box will appear and then close itself.

Gonna try this, thank you!

Has anybody had any experience with using this source port? It works beautifully on my 360, however I cannot seem to find any way to add any pwads. I’ve searched all over the net and read the reader files provided whith the sourceport download. It has no mention of adding pwads. Just setting up Iwads and saying all dooms will work ect.. ive seen other old threads saying to combine the iwad and pwad using some sort of tool? I would just move on and use omadex but it crashes when loading a save.. which is kindof important.. im so close to having AV on the big screen with proper controller support ect. any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. again this is Doom legacy port for the original Xbox, ran on my modded 360 not xbla or anything like that.
