  1. Slow crusher is preferable, since you want the boom and not a pool of blood. I'm using a similar barrel trick to have explosion sound(s) on a switch.
  2. Water levels are often poorly executed, usually by a significant deviation from the player's sense of control and agency. If I could fairly implement drowning in a Doom WAD, I'd make it a factor - otherwise I'm going to assume Doomguy has infinite lung capacity and limit the amount of underwater exposure. @EduardoAndFriends did reasonably well with scuba suits subbing in for rad suits in Deep Breath and using 5% damage floors. Perhaps a WAD that wants to use drowning and radiation with damaging floors can update the rad suit with a temporary HEV-style suit.

  4. Color me intrigued! I'm looking to get a teleport ambush going and would like to see the differences of new versus old.
  5. Some time ago I found artwork by Jason Engle that strongly resonated with my fighter/mage character concept for 1st edition Pathfinder.
  6. I learned about how fake contrast brightens and darkens walls that are exactly parallel to N/S and E/W axes on the map grid.. and how @EduardoAndFriends pulled off his monster teleports in Deep Breath. Very interesting technique!

  8. I've got a loose perspective of the map area, now I need to start making pathways and fill them with monsters and darkness. While I like adding detail, that needs to wait.
  9. Neat layout, neat music, no claustrophobia at all. Hitscanner and health placements are a fair challenge, punishing the players who don't mind them. At the end, is it intentional to allow the player to slip past the Knights/Barons to reach the level exit?

  11. Picture related to any "debate" over whether pineapple on pizza is legitimate. In seriousness it's not my first choice; pineapple makes the roof of my mouth tingle and I don't care for that sensation.
  12. The difficulty scales of various WADs are all over the place. I never think of shaming anyone for playing at their preferred level, even though ITYTD is otherwise a very generous HNTR. Going Down is very challenging for me; I can't consistently pistol start each level on HMP.

  14. ITYTD is HNTR with double ammo and 50% reduction on damage received by the player. By design, you will get an easier ride on ITYTD than HNTR. I plan to adjust for HNTR, but I've played Doom for years and thus I hover around HMP/Ultra by default.
  15. Winter. I drive regularly, and thus have to deal with: Snow! Black ice! Inexperienced drivers who drive too fast for weather conditions!
