About Me
My name is Gustavo, I am from Brazil, 48 years old. I used to be obssessed with DOOM in the nineties, made several maps (about 7 or so), all of them are unfortunatelly lost. I published them on a local BBS at the time and my personal backups did not survive. Later I dabbled with Duke Nukem 3D and Quake mapping as well, those maps I still have with me. I made a map for Quake inspired by the classic DOOM 2's MAP07, uploaded it to ftp.cdrom.com and called it: "Slaughter's Kingdom" (preposterous!). By the way, Slaughter was my nickname playing DOOM 2 on duel deathmatch BBS tournaments over 14.4k modems back then.
Games are my main hobby until today and I like all kinds of them. I also like to study them and make them. Recently I've rediscovered the original DOOM games and their several modern ports and it's incredible to see how the games are still amazing after 30 Years! After that, doing some catch up, here I am, planning to relearn DOOM mapping and maybe help develop some of the incredible community projects out there.
