  1. shoot/punch the computers in the hellknight que line!! its the secret of the map, you can start the OCTAGON!! with the mega that way! ahh yeah its compat 9!
  2. yeah this is definitely for seasoned tysoners, hence why the lower difficulty lets you soften up the opposition with a shotgun, theres a few implementation ideas i have to make this 100%able consistently, im thinking of using crushers to crush the remaining enemies if they dont spawn in. But yeah just a fun little romp and i intend the whole project to feel not too stressful but a focus on difficult scenarios
  3. infinite ammo on a timer is not resource management. Look if you like the game thats fine, you dont need to debate me on the merits of the game its your opinion and its valid, I just dont like the game and thats my opinion and im expressing what direction id rather the game be taken in.
  4. Hey so I've gotten into mapping. This is a little tyson gimmick map, for map01, I made, its part of a bigger set i'm planning called Slaughter School which will just be some short punchy levels involving slaughter scenarios using a single weapon (e.g. fists, super shotgun, rocket launcher, etc.) but this was a test of me trying to get boom functionalities working, including a timed combat scenario!! some quick notes >boom format, tested in dsda and gzdoom, works well, compat 9 >difficulty levels implemented, you get a shotguns on lower levels, if you're a wimp who can't punch out revenants jks jks >the final timed scenario will sometimes not spawn all the monsters because the monsters block the teleport destinations, i decided i'm ok with that so if you don't get 100% kills at the end its for that reason, in future i'll design timed scenarios with that in mind but i was mostly focused on getting the timed encounter working!   5. id like the movement to be more conservative so you cant just fly out of every situation, like id like to be able to be checkmated and cornered and mobbed and have to rely on carving through the enemies to get my space. Id like less recovery mechanisms, no chainsaw infinite ammo, no regenerating ice bomb that gives you health or flamethrower for armor, id like there to be actual resource management.

  11. i like their proggy ballad stuff, and sick thrash rhythms and solos, st anger has nothing i love about metallica in it, its the peak of butt rock edit: i dont even care about the bad mastering and production, its the actual composition that is totally miserable

  14. Scythe 2 is honestly.. pretty damn amazing. I still havent finished it and its CBT is a bit too much for my tastes but when it lets you rip it feels fantastic, I think its gonna stick in my head for a while. After I finish it its gonna be my sisyphian mission to single segment UV max every level, even Death, it just calls to me, ominously. Ive gotten up to level 8 in Sunlust but im so close to finishing Scythe 2 its like.. taunting me, saying "you want to conquer me dont you", and I do, I hate that I do but like I cant die without conquering it, and im worried Sunlust and Speed of Doom will have the same effect on me, just make me feel like.. I havent experienced life and death until Ive single segment UV maxed every freaking level. Thank you Erik Alm, you are an angel and a devil, and youve got under my freaking skin.

I'd recommend Rush.wad, i was completely new to slaughter and managed to practice and single-segment UV-Max every level, and Map12 is a masterpiece, it doesn't have any Ribbiks style CBD, just like some tricky fights that require you to come up with a strategy. I'd say Map11 can be a little stressful but its short, Map09 is very slaughterish but you can figure it out!
  16. perfect example: the Cyberdemon hill in NewGothic Movement map05, i display it at 33:04 in this video it requeiws a figure 8 movement to safely avoid the cyberdemin rockets. This is also just one of my favourite levels!
  17. tbf no one has ever done single segment of Okuplok except Coincident's ITYTD single segment. One day someone will though, and that person will truly be crowned capital G God of Doom.. God of Doom also just sounds like such a cool phrase so someone UV-Max okuplok and earn it

Erik Alm made me actually like them, the only truly nonsense encounter i've had so far though is in Map24 there's the big room with chaingunners and evil marines and its like.. cmon man, both getting hitscanned and these angry weasels running around shaving your balls with a plasma razer.. I do actually wanna see similar speedy bois in some doom stuff, its more refreshing than "big tank that has a tough projectile pattern" lots of other maps do!
  19. first secret map is actually super easy to trivialize i realized after a few tries (if youre not going for that secret exit), you can just circle strafe the AI for the most part, its how they use the Evil Marines in some latter parts that are excruciating.. like Map23, they're used in the worst way... on the other hand, I kind of love them in map 24 and 25 theyre actually used in a fun way in those levels! edit: that secret exit in map31 is BS though.. im so glad it isnt required for a UV-Max but imagine you're playing continuous and have to deal with that nonsense.
  20. ohh.. i just dont complete any packs with an IoS map.. even Plutonia and TNT's are just stupid, and I rate Plutonia quite highly overall. Me wonder why MtPain27 always complains about Dead Simple clones which can be quite fun, but doesn't have the same scorn for IoS stuff
