Use DSDA-Doom's method. It positions the status bar at the bottom without stretching it. It also lets you see slightly more in-game (above) than 4:3.

Hey alchemist. How's the update coming along? Sorry for the mini-bump, but I want to suggest some things. I recommend you separate the widescreen assets as an optional addon, since some ports (especially older ones) don't have support for them. Also, I found a bug in Canto 1. There's a secret you can't reach due to it being too tiny. And that's all. Wish you the best of luck for your project!

5:4 is, in a nutshell, a little taller than 4:3. DSDA-Doom, GZDoom and The Eternity Engine support this aspect ratio, but in DSDA-Doom it looks a little weird when you use the fullscreen hud (you can see the sky repeating above).

Oooh, sounds interesting! I'm not much of a fan of DSDA-Doom (i can't run it very well), but I'll give it a try! Well, it's pretty good! I always liked the blocky fuzz effect in Woof, so I'm really glad it's in a prboom fork now... for software, even! The menu looks much nicer now. and the GAMEVER lump also sounds lovely. Can't wait for those new features to arrive :)

If you don't mind me making a suggestion... Since the idea of a level table was brought up not too long ago, and since this port aims to have a clean UI... why not merge both the level table and the level selection menu? My idea is like this: an option to choose the level (like the automap colour preset), toggles for things like -nomonsters or -solo-net, with text below that shows your stats for that level. For the multiplayer setup, just make a submenu. International Doom has something similar, although only for single-player.

Seconding this. I mean, you managed to make (and share to the public!) these levels and, not going to lie, I love that first screenshot with the sloped letters. Doing that alone requires a lot of willpower, especially if it's your first work. It may not be the best wad ever, but we all start somewhere! So don't belittle yourself, please. I'll play this wad when I find time, and I'll give you some feedback.

Thank you all for playing! Sorry for not answering earlier, I was busy with irl stuff. I do plan to make an episode out of this. since I have a few more ideas I want to flesh out. Hopefully they'll be as "slaughtery" as this one (without barons ofc c:).

Abruma Abruma is a small map made for the Ultimate Doom. Initially I was going to delete this one due to my lack of motivation but I ended up finishing it! I then shared it in a Doom server and people seemed to like it, so... I'm now sharing it here! This is also the first map I publish on the internet, so please give feedback if you play it. Tested with Woof! and Chocolate Doom (it somehow worked!!) MIDI is "Introducing Mrs. Tier F" by Peter, from the TNT MIDI Pack. Here are some screenshots:

Is there a reason as to why the 'warp' option in the setup .exe was removed? Just wondering.

I was suggesting rather than asking for an alternative solution, but thank you anyway. Didn't know about the index thingy! Awesome, keep up the good work!

Hello, I've got a small request. When using the vanilla automap color preset with the "color keyed doors" on, the yellow and red door colour is too similar to the other map colours and you can't notice the difference. I don't mind, but perhaps you could use the extended map colours of Crispy Doom? They would look a lot nicer.

Finally had some time to play this pack. Awesome work. I particularly like the new sky for the Inferno episode, it fits way better than the starry sky one. I can see now why you initially chose not to use Peter's MIDI pack. It just sounds too silly. It fits well with the original release, sure, but for me it sounds a little off with the 46 maps. Maybe it's because I'm now taking these levels seriously. I don't know. Anyways, this pack is awesome, keep up the good work :)

Would anybody still enjoy a Doom 1 MEGAWAD?
costadevale replied to Baron T. Mueriach's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Episode selection for vanilla, of course! As for the OP... I would play it. As long as you don't force the player to shotgun everything in their way it'll be fine. Gimme gimme more Doom 1 wads!!! -
