    The City of Despair

    I think this is pretty damn good honestly. I don't mind the switch hunt element at all (akin to rpg games of old, not reccommended for these ADHD children) and that deep water effect would have been very convincing in 300x200.
    I'm gonna take a wild guess and say Glacie's favorite games at this time were Mario Kart and Doom.
    Oldschool Doom fun, well balanced ammo, great enemy encounters :)
    Damn good. Maps have great flow, thoughful item placement and a perfect mix of fresh and oldschool textures. You'll find inspiriation from several other great WADs out there, but with a unique twist. Map13 is very neat and Map02 is my favorite because fuck you i'm an OSfag. Also, wtf lern 2 map
    Let's get serious for a sec here - Considering the tools they had back in 96, this is awesome. For something so old, a suprising attention to detail is shown throughout. Some of the monster encounters are dickish, and I can just tell this would be a bit painful in cooperative, but it makes for an excellent SP megawad that is worth beating once.
    I think these maps are okay in terms of playability. They looks better but play worse than the first. This is about a million times better than gothic99 though. We don't speak of that dark chapter..

    The whole "every map starts in the same spot" thing is kinda cool for continuity and wasn't seen much back then, but these maps are just so generic..

    These maps contain plenty of "super empty massive bland hallways" that we associat with 1994, but it also has some genuinely cool looking rooms and ideas. I can see this was actually quite good for it's time.
    This doesnt seem to work in any modern ports :( I think I know what it was supposed to do though and that's a cute idea for a 96 mod.

    Circle Strafe

    I find it ridiculous that map01 and map02 have hitscanner enemies... Circle strafing only helps you to avoid projectiles, for hitscanners you simply need cover, otherwise sr50ing won't even protect you. What a silly WAD..
    Very plain even by 1998 standards, but not vomit. The thing about the 600 year overdue library book - That's funny as hell. Thanks for the laugh, Steve.

    The map layouts for map01 and map02 are actually great, it's just the awful brown textures all over that kill it. Spend a little time retexturing these and you'd have a super solid mini-wad.

    DooM Vacation

    So fun!!
    This took me 25 minutes exactly to beat. Very fun map and very clever 'interconnection' rountes - I just love the windows that let you see ahead or peek into a secret area. This was like a "mini" episode 1 bundled into one great level. I like the tight design - This was a SP experience through and through, probably not as great in cooperative. This is your 2nd map? Amazing - It takes most of us a few years to make stuff this clean & fun. 5!
    Simply put, this is awesome.
    This deserves between 3 and 4 stars. The detailing is a bit sprase, but the gameplay is honest a lot of fun. Not too hard, not too east, fun "blast through" maps, right up my alley. This would be a 5 if all the maps looks as good as the later ones (Map20 is quite nice, for example). Good work!
    I like these maps, simple but very fun :)

    You can get stuck on some maps, and there are some missing textures... Even for 1997 this is kinda bad. Playable somewhat, but overall not worth it.

    Despite all the fuss... It's honestly kinda weird... But so much effort and love went in, high score for that alone. The spritework is pretty damn phenomenal for a Doom wad, let's be serious.

    Here we have 7 duel maps which I've worked very hard on perfecting. I know it's a bit less than my previous releases, but the lesson here is quality over quantity! The texturing is cleaner than my old stuff, but more importantly, the item and weapon placement is FAR superior. These are designed to be true skilltesters - You'll have to know exactly what weapon to use and when to defeat your foes, and use of enviromental cover is crucial to victory. Simply put, I went in with a "designed for tournament use" mentality. A big thankyou to MrCrispy, Decay, Ru5tK1ng, The_Miano and a few other beauties out there for your critiques and advice while constucting this set. It's because of your input that these turned out nicely, rather than just another "king of the items" DK_DM mapset.
