    UAC Outpost Nine was invaded by alien lifeforms. A reconnaissance squad of ten was sent in to assess the situation and secure the outpost. The squad leader reported that the outpost personnel had been killed, and were perhaps cloned for alien soldiers. The last contact with the squad leader was a request for reinforcements -- losing assets fast! There was no contact with the squad leader for twenty-four hours. Since all divisions had been committed to the ongoing battle for the Earth, we turnd to you. Since you were stationed at HQ, we could only arm you with your sidearm. But hey, you're trained Marine, with combat experience -- besides, you've done nothing but bitch about your desk job. You've made it through the outpost entryway, and the Underhalls below. You even managed to escape from the solitary cell and ran the gauntlet to get out of that fortified prison. The alien command post at the very center of the outpost proved to be no challenge. You now enter the outpost waste tunnels. You must clear the waste, or become waste yourself...

  11. Simply Simple v1.0

    Mindless senseless violence. Plain and simple! A tribute to the classic, with ample ammo and monsters running around. Not nearly as hectic in DM, but a good fragging ground nonetheless.

    I'm interested in including a cool speedrun or other interesting demo in the next release. If you make one (with the standard Doom2.exe), please let me know.

  12. UNSEENEFFECTS.WAD

    This level has many effects never seen before and an INCREDIBLE ending! As well, there is a life-and-death GAME with a CYBERDEMON! I've also put in what's never been done before, a barred door that you can see everything through which opens by the floor lowering from the ceiling and lets bullets through but not rockets or plasma (too big to fit between the bars, of course!!) This level is my baby. I guarantee it WILL give you a rush. I am very serious.

  13. WHO STOLE THE HEALTH?

    Level ripped out of an unreleased megawad named "The Twilight Zone 2 which was rejected by cdrom.com. So I'm going to release the levels as seperate wads as time goes on.

    The Story (reviewers put this story into your review) "Oh no, I'm stuck in a lost base!, Help, Help!, Where is The HEALTH? I'm gonna DIE, well I'll try not to be Malcolm. Oh YES!, I have a PISTOL, and I will kill that Sarge, yippy a SHOTGUN, oh no I'm gonna get BURNT by those imps, 'no problem. Oh no I can't find that health! Oh owwh, Hell Knights, DAMN, Demons everywhere where is that Health there it is!, a SOULSPHERE I can't reach it because I have a weight problem, OUCH!, I'll get you Hell Knight, Whaaaaah!, The Marine Died. Will he survive another great battle? The End

    All the Health is hidden except a berserk strength. There is not 1 health potion, stimpack or medikit in the entire level. All the enemies Are either "Lost Souls" or non bullet shooting enemies. It can be done. After grabbing the yellow key, the silver tower outside will create invincible imps to attack you, don't forget that rocket launcher! This is sort of an incredible blend of E1M7 and TNT level 4 and very well joined together. The level was NOT modified from other DOOM games.

  16. Private Domain

    Just after failure of the Plutonian Experiment, the UAC hangared their "gateway" programs. Many of the Gateways were kept under lock and key. However, a wealthy UAC corporate saw personal benefit and secretly took a Gateway to a remote planet where he had built a large complex complete with a lab and quarantine area to test the specimens. Unfortunately, as before, things got out of hand and the evil escaped, killing and torturing the scientists. The UAC soon got word of the missing artifact and despatched military forces to control the situation. All the soldiers sent were killed, although they did achieve one thing. Just before they were all annihilated, one lone soldier sent back information that one of the scientist had triggered the Gateway safety mechanism: that is, if a life form approached the Gateway it would automatically shut for ever. You are the UAC's last hope. Your mission: Shut the Gatway at all costs and destroy the evil that has run rampant throughout the complex.

      I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

      Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

      A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

      Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

      I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
