  1. COOL.WAD

This is my first attempt at creating a level from scratch. I included a little bit of all the things I like in DOOM. This level is extremely hard, and should be played by experts only.

But, it seems that when you arrive, you realize that the enemy has let the Spectres get out of hand... They are rampaging everywhere along with their cousins, the Demons! So many, in fact, that all of the enemy soldiers have evacuated and are waiting out landing area for assistance... hundreds of enemy soldiers, Spectres, and Demons, but that is not all! 3. CHALLENG.WAD

This is a pretty challenging WAD that I attempted to make tough for people who like to abuse the cheat codes. It has no doors that need keys so you are stuck with finding the correct switches to open doors.

  5. Cadet.wad

So you finally get to go to cadet school. Your mum drops you off at the main gate. As she pulls away you look to see her laugh and slowly her face changes to that of a green skinned Demon. Suddenly you put together the mornings events into one great illusion. You have been duped. It seems you are to be the next meal at the Demons cadet school. The gate is already closed, too late to turn and run. The only way out is to battle your way through the demons own training ground to safety !!! ?.

This level can get tough if you go to fast, slow down take on one task at a time and search for the appropriate weapons.

  7. SIU-Doom

Building III -- Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, three hundred years into the future. Primarily a plasma rifle level.

Best if played using the cheat code "idclevXX" to ward directly to level in single player mode. Cooperative and Deathmatch are also pretty cool.

  10. Blaze's Wrath

You must work your way through an onslaught of demonic creatures which have invaded a nuclear testing facility. Your goal is to enter the mysterious subterranean caverns from whence the demons came (E2M9) and destroy all the Barons who oversee the invasion force. Of course, you could always just waltz out the normal way... But what fun is that?

  13. Baron in a Pit (Sequel to Baron on a Pedestal)

Brown and Gray, lots of monsters. My fourth wad, and the first one where I paid very close attention to textures and texture alignment. COOL level. Very hard, but is just fun to run through. Spends a lot of time outside, and has a stairway to the basement of DOOM. Has a demo, so just sit and watch if you get stuck.

  14. bop.wad -Baron on a Pedastal

Dark and Forboding, a trip into the dark side of Diemos. Has numerous teleporters, and a few stair cases, just to keep up with my first wad. Their not huge, but very interesting. Didn't implement and secret doors or sectors. There are many Barons of Hell, and one guarding the blue key on a platform (hence the title)

  19. Gates of Anguish

After a weekend of R&R, you return to your base to find your unit has not returned from routine maneuvers on Mars. Upon checking in with your CO, you find him a changed person. He only moans, "Despair, Despair, Why did it have to be Despair." Your comrades had been sent to pay a routine visit to UAC's genetics and physics lab knicknamed "Despair" because of its remote location. Grabbing your sidearm, you head for the hanger some call the "Gates of Anguish" to begin your search for the fate of your comrades. Your journey begins with a quick flight to the remote landing pad cut into the red rock. Your shuttle deserts you as the first shots are fired, leaving you no easy way back. From here on, its just you against the denizens of the hellish place.

  22. Adam.wad

This is a replacement wad for Episode 1, level 2. It has a few secret areas and only the shotgun to find. This makes the floor much more difficult, but I didn't want to pack a whole episode into one floor. :) The texturing is all lined up so you may have to use a cheat to find the secret areas.

  24. The Artifact Version 2.1

You've been to hell and back, now it's MILLER time! Unfortunately the officer you pounded earlier is now your new CO. Guess who gets the next S**T detail? While boarding the drop ship, you find out some strange goings-on are happening at a UAC facility in the Andes mountains. It appears that what recently happened on Mars is happening here. People rising from the dead, demons and monsters gnawing the living. Not good!

You are to meet some undercover operatives at the facility who will lead you to a secret base nearby (Something about having to climb a waterfall and navigate some sewers). You here a rumor about the discovery of an alien artifact that supposedly started this whole mess. You also hear a story about a UAC backed raid by a company of storm troopers that failed miserably. The one lone survivor kept babbling about "blowing up a mountain", though not the way they intended.

The drop ship doors open, and you hit the ground running. Great! An entire company of veteran spacers gets wiped out, and they send you in alone with a pistol, just because you did it before.

Fortunately, a reception party is waiting for you. Unfortunately, THIS reception party is not the undercover operatives you were to meet! AMBUSH!

  25. Castle Phobos

THE STORY: Your wandering around the martian moon landscape when you stumble across an odd structure built into the side of a mountain. A closer look reveals the entrance of a castle with two watch towers.

"What in Hell is this?" you ask yourself. It would appear as if some architect had too much time on his hands. Anyway, it seemed quiet now, maybe too quiet. BETTER CHECK IT OUT!

This is the first four levels of my episode where the theme is set in a castle environment that is meant to be a challenge. There are 3 Demos to watch. ** Load Episode 2 to play **

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
