PUSS XII: Trick & Tear 2 (Now on idgames!)

Map: Unhallowed Conclave   (this map had two other names before: Unholy Sabbath and Bad Religion)

Author: Peccatum Mihzamiz

Format: UDMF GZDoom

Music: Witold Lutosławski: 'Funeral Music', and Giuseppe Verdi: 'Requiem'.

Sky: OSKY34 from OTEX

Difficulty settings: No

Time spent: 8 Hours and 49 minutes (some of that over-the-deadline is fixing stuff)

Known issues: have to add a third music track. The last battle perhaps some balancing still.

Comments: Will write some comments later perhaps.

Sky: RSKY1 (was some random orange sky pic I found on google then darkened).

Format: UDMF Difficulty

Settings: Yes

Build Time: Roughly 2 and half hours

Par Time: 4 minutes?

Jumping Crouching: Optional

Comments: Amma be honest... this isn't the best map I've made. I had a solid idea early on but quickly ran into a road block on how to make this interesting... :l Screenshots:

Sky: CTYSKY13 Meks Box O Skies

 

Format: Gzdoom UDMF

 

Difficulty Settings: Some extra enemies in areas on higher difficulties.


Crouching is Required.
 

Build Time:7 hours ( 1 hour remains for bugfixing)

“Rated one of the worst movies ever published by PUSS Studios, “Run and Hide” was a disaster on many fronts and one of the worst movies in the Boss Battle Bonanza lineup. The director, Meme “Theperson” Mind, looked back on the movie, “I was not experienced enough in my talents for RaH, I look back on that film horribly.” Mememind was also quoted to say “I may have gone too far in a few places,”

Why we bring up Run and Hide is that it was announced that a remake would be made along with 2021’s “Trick and Tear 2” linup. This remake named “Run and Hide: REviled” or “Run and Hide: The Mememind Cut.” Lets hope that this version is much better than the original. The main actors have been announced and they are: Doom “Slayer” Guy as Doomguy and Chris Pratt as “Redvile.”

Turns out that I didnt know gzdoom had a update and this map is completely broken in gzdoom 4.7.

I gotta fix this.

Turns out I missed that update too! but after a quick test looks fine.

By the way, "Crouching" isnt allowed by the rules given, just in case you didnt notice and have to modify

any kind of geometry.

Just played all maps done by now, cool maps so far guys.

Gotta say Bad Religion by @Peccatum Mihzamiz was great fun, perfect halloween map!

 

I couldnt beat Run and Hide by @Theperson , some lifts arent repeatable and you can easy get softlock,

guess is because the mentioned gzdoom update.

 

I found a little hom on Feed by @Death Bear , and got softlocked behind the blue key door (it requires yellow key from inside).

About the secrets, I found one that was tagged somehow in a "random" sector, somewhere at the end of the room, pic below.

Comments: Pretty mixed feelings about this one tbh. I like the concept but feel the execution is pretty mediocre gameplay wise.

@myolden Cool map, I enjoyed this foggy town. Im just curious, was the SSG available all the time? I found it when I already did everything

and decided to explore stuff on the auto-map. Loved the ammo & health balance.

@Death Bear That was fun, always a pleasure to wipe out hordes of low tier monsters, zombie fodder is great for that matter.

Fun fact, I found the regular shotgun almost at the end, had to make it through with the chaingun and the chainsaw, good times.

I found a couple of things worth to mention, the big tech door isnt repeatable and theres also the blood dripping texture that is missing in some

steps on those bloody stairs. Thank god I found all secrets, that last fight is juicy.

Map: 'At Midnight's Hour, unwillingly'

Format: UDMF GZDoom

Music: 'Fear Procedure' by Stephen Root, from the game 'Alien Trilogy'

Sky: sky1 = "OSKY51"  sky2 = "OSKY34", both from OTEX by @ukiro

Difficulty settings: No
Mouselook: needed for one of the fights at the end

Time spent: 8 Hours, plus quite a bit of time balancing

Known issues: none

Comments: This is my second map for this project. First time using mirrored polyobjects and hurting polyobjects. Had lots of fun making it and actually spent most time fixing some stupid things.

Music: Kraid's Lair - Metroid

Format: WAD

Difficulty Settings: NO

Build Time: 9 hours, at least.

Comments: Didn't make the build time, because I am completely new to mapping. First creation. Known bugs: for some reason, I can't get the damn music to play

EDIT: Sorry, ran out of time there by a minute, typed like a madman to get this done. So, to introduce myself: first time poster, long time reader, wanted to get a good incentive to start mapping and since I love Halloween I decided that this would be it. For a bit more context, first map I ever submitted to anything, was a lot harder than expected because I had to keep looking up documentation on getting things done. One thing that doesn't work is the music, no idea why, but I ran out of time. I would love to hear your feedback!
