    Mailbag

    By Mordeth, in News,

Steve Noonan updated his site with all sorts of stuff, including word of a new SP Doom add-on utilising the Gothic DM texture set. He could also use some feedback to his UltraFE front-end, supporting every known / future Doom add-on / TC / port. Go give it a looksie!
The Deimos Incident project is apparantly still going strong. The site has a large update but unfortunately I can't reach its URL. However, you probably can so check this one out.
The Last Day On Earth site has been updated with a progress chart. It looks like they're close to releasing the first episode of this project.

    Doom Nation Stuff

    By Mordeth, in News,

Progress on Destruction is still OK, considering the author's personal circumstances. Best wishes, dude.
Doom Millenium is, as you know, a wee bit delayed. But according to the latest update we can expect it in the next 2-3 weeks. Aren't you looking forward to this?
The Eternity TC however has been "indefinitely delayed", the reasons being unresponsive team members and being "deadlocked waiting for a stable version of SMMU".

    By Mordeth, in News,

Randy Heit announced on the ZDoom forum that he has released a new beta version of the win32 source port ZDoom, which changes "the way sound effects are played". Hopefully this fixes the sound problems people seem to have been having with previous releases. Binaries and source have been mirrored as usual.

    By Linguica, in News,

PrBoom/GlBoom are now hosted on the code repository Sourceforge. As with the nature of Sourceforge, the source-code is also available. Florian Schulze says that the OpenGL version hasn't changed since the last release, and he says that if anyone is willing to help him with the readme and the other docs, or development in general, please write to him.

    Postcards From The EDGE

    By Linguica, in News,

Quasi-DOSDoom-successor EDGE has also moved onto a Sourceforge homepage, and posted an alpha version of the Enhanced Doom Gaming Engine. There's a DOS, Win32, and OpenGL version available not to mention source code, but they warn that the code as of yet is extremely alpha, being described as "being as stable as a small raft in a hurricane." Check it out anyways.

Covert Operations has updated saying that they're expecting that a release of the Edge engine is imminent, and to celebrate this they'll be putting out a demo version of Covert Ops. They expect an alpha of edge to be released literally within a day or two. Once the alpha is released, they'll crank over into beta testing and look to release shortly after that.
