  2. The Detailed Cliche

WARNING: THIS MAP IS A SEMI-JOKEWAD IT HAS NO GAMEPLAY VALUE AT ALL

This is my first released map, however iv known how to map for a while now. I could never finish a map properly, id spend so much time then id end up deleting it.

I wanted to try to make something on a smaller scale. Not a 1024 map, but something unique. I thought "what is the most common thing a newbie mapper does in there first map" a Large Square map with 100 BFGs 100 Invuls and 100 Cyberdemons with a few SS guys thrown in... I figured that i could do the very same, yet actually put some effort into making the map look half decent.

So the map was born, i used textures and sprites from a Blood themed project i was planning to do, but never got off the ground. I also used music from the pack of unused doom music tracks that John Romero released some time ago and a new sky from somewhere i cant remember.

Again, this does not offer any kind of gameplay value, but maybe someone will get a laugh out of though.

  9. Can Bomb Dominoz

I came accross great idea when I play a game of dominoz. After playing level 23 of doom2 I had an real cool idea for a new map that might impress all.

You are in large outdoor area with arrows. Follow the ledge and you hear a Kunun like cretaure. When he shoot rockets he blows up all the cans like dominoz. Run back to start and exit lowers but if you miss exit a switch is revealed to at least two more exits. One on the rocks or you can face the Kanun youself with the big plasma gun and exit.

  11. DM2EGG.WAD

Well, first of all I have to apoligize for the size of the final zip-file. I didn't intend it to be that long. However, I thought it necces- sary to include the Demo in it because I really hate WADs that appear to be simply impossible. You delete them anyway after you have tried them once because you don't want to waste all your time practising it. So why would anyone want to download them? Therefore, I wanted to show everyone that it is indeed possible to finish this level even though it takes a long time of practice. So if you can do better in this level, show me!!!

  13. Full Options

Two simple doom maps which were somewhat experimental at the time I created them imo the layout of both maps turned out very nice and have an good amount of interesting detail but its not overdone. Gameplay should be relatively easy for the most part but some traps might catch you off guard, ammo/health balance turned out better than I expected especially map01, and for the people who were hoping for an map03 I will have to dissapoint them it never gotten that far at first they weren't ment to be released I was just trying some new ideas I had in my head.

  17. Dungeon

You are in England on a diplomatic relations trip. The conference is about what to do with old castles. Some of the politicians were looking at a castle when they found some thing strange. You (or your team)are sent in to investigate. There seems to be living beings in the castle. Research shows that many odd things have happened in the area since the middle ages. Stories of wizards, cinitars, and the living dead have been passed from generation to generation. Legend tells that they were captured and stored at a remote location. They were gathered and brought by nights hired by the nobility, who feared they would be lose power to the king. The maps that have been collected from other castles tell that the dungeon is were you are investigating. Do you have what it takes?

    My biggest level ever!

I saw wicked round spaceship named The Enterprize in a movie I forgot its name and I tried to recreate it in Doom2 and I was very happy because there is an awesome looking area that is round with windows. But since I from thailand, my sister who is 27 wanted me to put impse in the map but I thought it was too rude. I tried to make the gameplay very good, and this level took me friggan 3 weeks to make and its HUGE!. BTW I like eating sausages for lunch so if you wanna come over call me at 44782435276#7.

This WAD file took me 3-Days to creat(!) The best with this WAD must be all the new graphics I've added and Sounds! It's a huge city with cool houses all over, a city which feels as the real-thing but the city has been invaded by some scumbags call them self UACm your mission is to save the city from there Cyberdemon and Company. Ever seen the movie "the shining" well anyway, if you have: Do you remember the room 237 at the hotel..." In the city you may visit Mr.John Romero at ID_softwares quarter or the Super-Dome Stadium!

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
