    By Linguica, in News,

I've compiled and posted this week's Speedmapping pack, available now over at the Speedmapping homepage. The theme this week was to make a Episode 1-styled level, since Episode 1 is something which has been talked about a lot lately. Go check them out.

As a part of the feature for the fifth day of Doom Center's Episode One mega-feature, Bigdog has posted an interview he had with John Romero, the designer of most of the levels of Doom's Knee Deep in the Dead. This interview can be found here, and if you're still interested in that autographed poster, the link for that contest is available here.

    ZDaemon 0.99 Release

    By Arioch, in News,

Slayer1 has posted in the forums about the newest release of ZDaemon, the client/server multiplayer source port. Instead of doing my usual cut and paste job on the changelog, I'll just direct you to the appropriate forum thread. It is available for download from www.truelights.com and www.doom2.org.

    Ground Zero

    By Arioch, in News,

Gokuma has sent in the news that after over two years of being totally off the scope, the long-awaited new beta of Ground Zero, a Team Fortress styled mod for Doom, has finally been released. Unfortunately, due to the project team being in a state of shambles, only one CTF map has been included in the beta release, with some new maps possibly to be released by Gokuma later on. The project's page is available here.

    Aftermath Of A NiGHTMARE

    By Arioch, in News,

Nick Baker, perhaps in response to the recently started series of stories from Deimos Labs, has kicked off a series of fan fiction posts of his own, which relate the stories of the survivors of the demonic invasion of the Mars bases and Earth. This little series can be found here.

Doom Center webmaster Bigdog has named a winner for Day Two's drawing for the prize of the first part of the four book series of Doom novels, and as promised, has started the second quiz/drawing, this time for the entire four-book set. Accordingly, the quiz is a bit harder! The second section of today's part of the week-long Episode One feature contains some testimonials to Doom E1's greatness from 10 members of the community, and you, the reader, are encouraged to post more of them at the bottom.

    Deimos Labs

    By Arioch, in News,

Just a quick reminder for those of you interested in that sort of thing, there are regular updates at Deimos Labs that further enhance the story line for some dark mysterious project via \"leaked\" electronic messages. And apparently Grand Admiral Fyrestorm is Admiral Arioch\'s superior officer.
