News
Well, from what I have heard, the Doom 2 tourney at the Frag 4 went off without a hitch, and California's own Vapor was able to knock off "Dominus" who came in second, and Gearbox Software's Randy Pitchford came in a paltry third. Of note is that Vapor asked if Doomworld would sponsor his journey to Texas since he was sure he was going to win (we didn't BTW); I guess his confidence was not misplaced, since he's won that new Athlon 1GHz computer.
The Twice Risen homepage has been updated with the news that Michael Niggel has modeled the "M-141 Laser pistol," which is near completion. He's also attempted to model a hand, which turned out well. Finally, he's clarified what he means by helping out the team.

Over at the RTCDoom site, news of a new demo to be released and consequently played is rampant. It's quite plain and obvious, actually. The TRTCCDemo can be downloaded here. Evidently only a week in delay, the first level, introduction, and storyline is brought together in this quick demonstration. Get it while it's hot! Even if it's cold.

Looks like the csDoom project isn't quite as dead as we all had thought. On this csDoom forum post, Fly announces he's risen from the dead and is still working on the csDoom mod. Remember csDoom? Yeah, that ZDoom mod with Quake-like open-joining deathmatch that everyone played for about 4 days. Anyways:
Client-server co-op? Sounds good to me...

And one of those would be IcarusWing, with his IcarusWeb. That's right, issue nine is upon us. Heading in on towards double digits here folks. This time it covers the 10 Sector contest some silly little Doom site is running, as well as the usual review, editorial, and more. Go take a gander and always remember to renew your subscription.

Unholy Software has updated with a little map news, a little music news, a little buzz about 10 Sectors or something like that. What is this whole thing going on about 10 Sectors? Doesn't it take a bit more to make a map? But go on and check out the update. Got some of the usual Unholy flavored goodness all about it.

The StroggOnMeth site has a small update about the progress being made on his Doom Legacy source mod. Apparantly he has ironed out all the bugs in his implementation of Fragglescript and Boom friction as well as added some "really cool" features. One of those is 3D floors, which are "almost finished".
