    DWBS

    By Linguica, in News,

Well, it's over. After one month of whoring the 10 Sectors WAD contest, all the entries have been submitted, and now the judging process begins. All in all, counting the maybe 10 or so resubmissions, there were 138 WADs submitted to the contest. That's more than 4 megawads, or to put it another way, "a whole crapload." Looking through the WADs, there might even be enough good ones to create two whole megawads for release, but we'll have to see about that. Release date? Hah, I have no idea. Couple weeks maybe, if I'm lucky, but we shall see.
If your level is almost done but you couldn't submit it for whatever reason, I will still give a small window of opportunity for you to submit your WAD. Not for the prize of course, but just that if you have put a lot of work into it already, you might as well finish it up and submit it a little late.

    Fanatical

    By Mordeth, in News,

At Fanatic's site there's word that there might be a new gaming music CD up for sale "within two weeks". Plus, he has donated a copy of his first CD "Fragging Fanatical" for the two runners-up in our 10 sector contest which, incidentally, ends tonight at 11:59 PM Pacific Time... only a few more hours to submit your level and win that glorious Voodoo 5 5500 AGP card!

    ZD3K v2 Soon

    By Mordeth, in News,

A second, improved version of the ZD3K demo is due for release later tonight. Normally we would wait for the actual release announcement, but since there's probably no one around tonight... The new version of this ZDoom 'Hexen format' project is still incomplete, but will have graphics, sounds, weapons/items, re-tuned scripts and Dehacked patch plus, of course, new levels to traipse around in.

    New Kesler Map

    By Mordeth, in News,

Kurt Kesler has released a new KBoom level at his site. I wish I could tell you a bit more about it, but at the time of writing the page seems inaccessible. But, people tend to like his previous work so chances are this one is a winner, too.

    DWBS2

    By Linguica, in News,

I'm going back up to UCLA tomorrow morning, meaning that I am going to be offline until I have a chance to set everything up and get jacked in to the university network. Hopefully it shouldn't take too long and I'll be back online tomorrow afternoon, but there's always the chance of something going screwy, and then you'll have to rely on Covaro and AndrewB, as Mordeth is gone for the weekend as well. Remember tomorrow is the final day to send in those 10 sectors WADs, in case I have somehow let you forget :P

    Ghostbusters Doom

    By Mordeth, in News,

After a long absence the Ghostbusters Doom site has been updated again. They have switched the project over to ZDoom, and their development page has been overhauled - showing off all the new weapons. Whoop!

    PrBoom Patch

    By Mordeth, in News,

The Windows distribution of the recently released source port PrBoom v2.1.0 contained a wrong DLL file, which caused MIDI music to not work. You can get the correct DLL from their site.

    Killer Progress

    By Mordeth, in News,

Andrew Loly emailed us to tell that the development of the Aliens Doom project Killer is going well. They\'ve been working on a version that actually works with all the Boom-compatible source ports, and several new levels are being worked on. A few new screenshots are also posted, so go and gawk!
Update: The name of this project is a bit confusing, as there is also a Kill project.

    DWBS

    By Linguica, in News,

The end is in sight! With only one day left in our 10 Sectors Contest, the final entries are starting to pour in. Right now the count stands at 108 WADs submitted, and I am hoping that number might make it up to perhaps 120 by the end. Remember that all WADs must be submitted by 11:59 PM Pacific, September 22, which is tomorrow (Friday). Even if your WAD is half-done, you might as well finish it up as best you can and send it in, because time is running short. Whee!
