Fanatic's Asylum has been updated with mostly some unrelated web-designing stuff, but he also talks about a new piano sound font he's obtained, and also discusses his music CDs which he is busy getting ready for sale. He might even have a double-CD package for all of you who are just Fanatical. Get it? Fanatical? Oh never mind.
Oblivion HQ has updated with a help wanted ad for their TC which will be based off of the new Doom game. Quick, go sign up before time runs out!!! Fredrik Johansson sent word that over on his homepage he's put up a link to a new megawad of his entitled "Pain." Win Vanrie's CTRL+A-loving Doom Site has been updated with the news that phouse.wad is now in /newstuff, and talks about the ongoing demo competition as well.

I don't want to discourage anyone, but today's screenshots come from an entry in our 10 Sectors Contest which is pretty much guaranteed to win. Looking at the shots, it should be obvious why: the stunning texture usage, the subtle use of lighting, the orthagonal walls, the Cyberdemon in an enclosed space, the fact that only one sector was used... sure, I'd still like you to submit an entry, but I just have to let you know that it's pretty much clinched.

The Eternity homepage has a short news item letting us know that Eternity and Skulltag have joined forces! Well, not quite, but Quasar is going to help Carnevil iron out bugs in his upcoming multiplayer mod, and in return Carnevil is donating his bot code to the Eternity project. Sharing is a good thing.

The rorDoom site has been updated for the first time in a long while. Actually, it hasn't yet (it still displays the old, OLD news) but according to the email I received from the author of this room-above-room Doom port a new coder has joined his team: Colin Phipps, of LxDoom fame. He'll be helping out on nodesbuildling. Good to see that the release of that other 3D Doom engine EDGE hasn't killed the development of this port!

After a long period of being seemingly dead, the rorDoom website has been updated about progress on this room over room Doom port. The author talks about the release of EDGE and its room over room support, but says that he's going to continue work on his because it's designed to be easily mergable with other ports, unlike EDGE which was hacked quite a bit to add in the 3D structures.

Ahem. TeamTNT has one of those horribly infrequent updates that we have all come to know and love. The big news this time? Well, their ZDoom project "Doom2000" has undergone a name change. What's the new name, you ask? Go over to their page and look for yourself, you punk. They also talk about progress on The Project Formerly Known As Doom2000 (TPFKAD2K?) which appears to be almost done. Also, they talk about some levels which community members have created using the resources from The Return.

The SkullTag site has updated with a progress report. The team is still busy hacking away at their next beta and assure the rest of us peons that the new features of this Deathmatch source port project will be worth the wait. To speed things up a little, however, they are looking for an additional sprite artist to help out.

Will it ever end? Well, yes, in 11 days, but until then I'm not letting up. The 10 Sectors Contest continues, with more entries being sent in every day. There's all sorts of levels being submitted -- polished-metal tech stations, grungy iron-and-brick constructs, earthy adobe plazas, dank, damp caverns, and more. There's still plenty of time to put together that 10-sector level of yours and win that Voodoo 5 5500 AGP. What, you're not the level making type? Try it, you'll like it. I dare you. What, are you chicken? Well? Huh? Yeah, thought so.
