Florian Schulze, author of the official Win32 port of Boom called PRBoom, has released a beta of his OpenGL Boom port. Whee! It has been mirrored at our source port section.
At the JHexen site there's a list of new features already implemented in the upcoming new release of this Win32 OpenGL Hexen port. Next on the to-do list is A3D 3.0 and 3D sounds, making this already great source port even greater.
Marc Pullen has updated his Fanatic's Asylum with word about that illusive EDGE port and his current work: "converting the codebase of QDOOM to conform to the newest engine changes, bug hunting the newest release, messing around with the now working screenshot variable, and testing different quality speeds versus size with the up and coming QDOOM movie." Yes, that new QDoom movie... it's a bit delayed because one of EDGE's new features isn't quite done yet: rain. I'd really like to see that one ;)
A fifth alpha version of the 'sector on top of sector'-able rorDoom source port has seen the light of day. Problems with fake 3D bridges are fixed and "this version should handle anything Boomcan". That does sound good! Bullet puff issues are not yet resolved, and some work still needs to done on the nodebuilder rorBSP. As usual you can find it at our source port section as well.
NetDoom has switched its codebase from WinDoom to PRBoom, which is the official Win32 port of TeamTNT's Boom engine. The next version of this internet deathmatch port will be released later this week.
Paul Brook sent word about an up to now unknown Win32 source port called Doom3D, by Andy Walsh. It features high resolutions, full TCP-IP network and Matrix / Direct3D support, plus... full 3D stereoscopic effect via DIY's Matrix screen overlay. It has been mirrored at our source port section.
Vick Bobkov sent word about his AfterDoom site, home of the 32-level megawad AfterDoom (...) and AntiGravity DM. According to the author it contains "new music, new textures, and a whole new original look". Qingshuo Wang has opened a new Doom forum called DoomFusion. Wish I could tell you more, but... seems to be designed not to work for my browser.
