Well, strictly speaking mere Quake2 mods have no place on this beautiful Doom site, but this one sort off pertains to Doom as well. I am talking of course about SOG, the continuation to the cancelled \'Generations\' mod where people can wield the weapons from their favorite past id Software games. Adam Ruddermann sent word that the first non-alpha version will be released tonight, so head over to their site if you\'re interested in emulating Doom in another game :)

That\'s right girls and boys, the long awaited sequel to Twilight Warrior has been released. Covert-Ops has hit the \'net and is off and running. What is I believe the first completed Edge only TC has been released. To take some words right from the creators:

Destroyer's Doom Zone has put up a "second and proper" Doom virtual pet. Features of the pet include feeding, sound, a tazer for discipline (or if you get bored), and a chewtoy.

Fanatic's Asylum has been updated with the news that Fanatic has been busy recently porting his old ROKS deathmatch mod to EDGE, and it should be done by this weekend. He also talks about setting up his online CD order form, and describes some of the stuff which will be in the new EDGE release.

Wim Vanrie's Doom Site has been updated with a bunch more demos for his demo contest which were sent in by Albert Valls, the man behind Cyberdreams. He also is waiting for everyone to send in their demos, so get over there and start recording.

The Asylem of Team Kill has released their Rage of Destruction public beta v0.9, which requires Doom Legacy 1.3 to play. In Rage of Destruction you apparently play as Godzilla and destroy buildings, which sounds odd to say the least.

The homepage for the Doom 2 @ The CPL competition has been updated, including a detailed tournament schedule. The tournament will start on Friday, September 29th at 12:00PM, continue until 10:00PM on Friday, and resume on Saturday at 12:00PM. It is scheduled to end at 6:30PM on Saturday, September 30th.

The Twice Risen homepage has been updated after a nearly two month hiatus with a little "we're alive" bleep, talking about the progress being made on various things such as sprites and levels, although they could use some more sprite artists.

Judging from the poll, the most of you would like to see all the 10-sector WADs put into big megawads. What I might do is release the, erm, \"least good\" megawad first, and then ramp up in quality from there. But then, of course, anyone in the \"least good\" megawad would be a little miffed, so maybe not.
