    Before Bed...

    By covaro, in News,

Well before I head off to bed for the day I figured I'd post a lil' press release we received sometime today while I was working.[quote] Kill's official release date is July 4th, 9 days away. The demo will contain replacement levels for E1M1-E1M9. It'll also have new music, sounds, and a new EXE file. I'm calling the release day KillFest. Kill will be uploaded sometime after 2:30 Colorado time.

GFX will not be inplace in this release, but will be shortly. The only work left is finishing E1M5 and E1M9, compiling the wad, and fixing any texture mis-alignments.</blockquote></font>You can get the full skinny at the Official Kill Site. I'm sure more news will arrive in our mailbox by the time I get up. =D

    JDoom Blurp

    By Mordeth, in News,

A small note at the JDoom site tells that this OpenGL port is being updated to work with Doomsday v1.0. This means that it'll be ready for a client/server test version "in a couple of days". Keep your eyes peeled...

    csDoom Server

    By Mordeth, in News,

Another reminder is posted at the csDoom site that the master server is now at 212.93.4.25. People ought to change their master.cfg file to reflect this change. This is also true for those hosting a server! Otherwise, your server will not show up in the master server's listing.

    EDGE Tutorial

    By Mordeth, in News,

Due to popular demand, a first set of EDGE level editing tutorials have been released at the EDGE site. This archive in HTML format deals with creating a 3D bridge (the real stuff, not the Keranen-style trick), 3D liquid under the bridge and lastly a second 3D bridge on top of the first one. That's a lot of bridges :) It's been illustrated and all, and the editor used is DOOMCad v6.1 but I'm sure any half-way decent editor will do as well. If you've been wondering how to implement the new features of this source port now's your chance!

Zvonimir Buzanic sent word about ZAP, a Croatian Doom site that seems to be a smallish Public Dang version. Apart from, of course, Doom demos it also has stuff on music and other games.

    DWBS

    By Linguica, in News,

Whelp, tomorrow morning I'm waking up bright and early to catch a plane up north to Washington state, where I'll be gallavanting around for 10 days or so. If all goes well I should be back late July 4 or early July 5. Until then I leave you in the capable hands of Mordeth and Covaro. If this site starts collecting dust and cobwebs over the next week and a half, you'll know who to blame.
