All the news, all the time.
Bahdko has (re)opened doom2.net. Here you can find deathmatch tutorials, links to SP and DM levels, modem support and other tips for playing online, plus a deathmatch database complete with a lanparty schedule. Check it out, will you? Tarin sent word that he has released his deathmatch level \"FBase5\" at his site. He has also put up some screenshots of a DM level for Team Future\'s ZDoom project Doom 3057, which looks pretty nice to me. Opulent\'s Doomed Speed Demos Archive has started up a deathmatch demo section. According to the site it won\'t be your regular type of archive in the sense that people will not be able to submit their own demos. In other news they\'ve posted several new regular demos for add-ons. The RTC Doom site has moved to a new location. They\'ve also put up some new screenies.

    Ranted Proliferates

    By AndrewB, in News,

There's a small bit of news, over at Perforated Entrails. One of their WADs was numbly discovered empty of ambient sounds, as well as full of other various, unnamed errors. I suspect poltergeists. They also have a bit of news on their Perforated Entrails project. You can read all about that on their site.

    Smoother Recessed

    By AndrewB, in News,

It looks like it could be just another "I am alive" update over at The Doomer's Recess, but maybe not. Some news on 2001 - A DooM Oddyssey. A few new screenshots on that project have been put up. No new reviews though, so don't give your hopes up. They have plans on reviewing an afore-mentioned modification, however. So there is something to look forward to. Enjoy it all while you can!

    Overactive Metabolism

    By AndrewB, in News,

One of our friendly hosted neighbors have come knocking. Metabolist's Site has announced the winner of its "Be-The-Thousandth-Visitor-To-My-Site" contest. The lucky 1000th vistor was none other than the maintainer of the site himself! So there will be no awards handed out. No luxurious trips. No fancy traveler's checks... In project-related news, two WADs have been officially completed! They will henceforth be known as Mortiser 1 and Ballistics. And of course, almost any feedback is welcomed for these WADs. Visit his WADS page for more details.

    Tiny Animates

    By AndrewB, in News,

A long-awaited update over at everyone's favorite site, Team Insanity! And guess what? There's a new review! One new review for everyone to thoroughly enjoy. On some side notes, Lüt talks a lot about his personal life. He's put up a recent picture of himself for general feedback, and is also asking for some HTML-related advice. Go see if you can help! Maybe it can induce some more reviews!

    DWBS

    By Mordeth, in News,

Storytime. A very long time ago, way way way back in the days before Doom, there were a bunch of people chatting away on a BBS (well, writing posts and waiting for anwers) and anticipating that new revolutionary game called DOOM. When its release was taking longer than expected that bunch of people started to monkey around and came up with their own \'Doom\' version... a \'game\' where the hero had to stop not evil demons but pumpkins who had stolen all of Earth\'s candles. It was called \"Smashing Pumpkins Into Small Piles Of Putrid Debris\" - or SPISPOPD for short. When Doom\'s release date was taking even longer they then wrote a FAQ for this non-existant game. When things were taking really much longer someone broke down and wrote an actual SPISPOPD game. Id Software, amused by all this, used the title of this pumpkin game for one of their cheat codes... that\'s right, the no-clipping code SPISPOPD.
Well, it\'s Halloween in America today so what better way to celebrate than to grab SPISPOPD from the Hamumu site and blast away those evil pumpkins! Also, check out their other games as well such as the sequal to SPISPOPD and \"Dr. Lunatic\". Today they have also put up a \"Dr. Lunatic Halloween Horror Pack\"... all in the Halloween spirit. Have fun today, people!
