Unholy Software has been updated talking about progress of their Nimrod project, saying that Map04 is pretty much complete, and also explaining why there haven't been many screenshots as of late. They also talk about the impending release of the 10 Sectors megawad, but everyone on the planet is looking forward to that anyway.
VE3D has posted four screenshots from an unknown 3D engine which they seem to suggest are from id's new engine for the new Doom game. Personally, if those are really shots from the new id engine I'll eat my hat, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Fanatic's Asylum has a small update about some various topics, including the 10 Sectors Contest, animated GIFs, a snake cage (?), and his new CD, Delicate Balance, which includes music from the now-defunct HACX2 project and which you all should go buy a copy of for $12 RIGHT NOW, or else I'll hold my breath until you do.

The Twice Risen homepage has the news that a new "variant" of Twice Risen has been released! Entitled "csDoom server-friendly pre-release v0.21," it does just what it sounds like and allows people to play the Twice Risen pre-release over everyone favorite client/server Doom port, csDoom. Those who already have the v0.2 pre-release don't need to download anything, but servers will need some new files in order to run it. Go over there and get some Twice Risen DM action on, damnit!

After close to six weeks of blood, sweat and tears, the judging for the 10 Sectors WAD Contest is finally done. We have our winner, we have our runners-up, and we have our 32-level megawad. That doesn't mean it's ready to go yet -- there are still a few things which need to be done, such as determining an order for the levels, creating some custom graphics like level titles and maybe a new titlepic, etc. Big props to Mordeth, AndrewB, Cocoon, and Matt Dixon for wading through all the WADs, not to mention the hundred-odd people who entered. Soon my friends... soon...
